... in response to Good information but the prices are infl..., posted by jj on Nov 26, 2001

jj,

Your response to wsbill's post would have more credibility if you offered something, anything, substantive to support your claim. To simply say; "the prices are inflated" really doesn't help anybody, now does it? If you have information to substantiate your claim, include it. If you don't have that information, then what value does your post add - except to add to the ambient noise level?

You know - it strikes me that someone else used these same sorts of posting tactics on this and another board. Hmmmmm . . . I wonder who (MAx) that may (MAx) have been (MAx). Oh well, I am sure it will come to me later.

Copyof post by Emil on Brama.com

I have only the price for a one-way ticket - a return ticket costs twice as much as a one-way ticket.

The prices are only valid for train ticket bought at a Ukrainian railway station.

You can find the train timetables at http://bahn.hafas.de/english.html,
and http://www.poezda.net/train.htm.

You offer a shred of info - with no consideration of the many variables. Cattle car class cost a lot less than Premium service - which did you take and which is posted on the site???

Keep trying MAx (oops, I mean jj), you are in the right direction.

... in response to Both Classes are inflated...  . . ., posted by jj on Nov 26, 2001

As follows:

Obschy (sitting car)
Platskartny ("rolling dorm")
Kupe (4-berth compartment) - aka 2nd Class
SV (2-berth compartment) - aka 1st Class

And that does not include the international trains nor the special trains such as the Grand Hotel special wagon. Are you sure you actually took a train in Ukraine???

I know about the classes of service of train travel in Ukraine from first-hand experience.

It is simply surprising to me that you would only reference 2 classes of service when, if you know much about Ukrainian train travel, you'd know there are 4.

More to the point, you accuse this one website of inflating their prices. It may be so - but where is your evidence? Do you really expect anyone to believe your report on the simple strength of your claiming it is so??? If you intend to supply evidence, then you need to compare apples to apples, hence, the need to be specific about which class of service you are referring. Is this getting too complex for you MAx? I recall you having serious trouble following simple logic paths in the past - so maybe it is plaguing you once again??

If you do then you will notive that they only make reference to two classes..  Do you dispute the FACT that the prices listed on this site are inflated...  How much did you pay for your trips and how did they compare to those listed on this site...  Are you associated with this site or something??

Or does that FACT escape you?!? Burden for facts to suport the accusation are not on me MAxie - they are on YOU!!

We've had this dance before MAxie - with your endless tactics of deflection and obfuscation. It did not work then - and it will not work now.

So if you are disputing what is being said then you supply what FACTS you rely on..  FACT the amount displayed on this site is not the price charged..  I guess you know that ...  ask anyone here how much they paid for a trip from Fiev to Lvov and compare...  m
