I am pretty much a lurker on this board. I have made a few short, simple posts, always relevant to FSU women or travel to FSU. I have only been there once and am no expert by any means. I am about two months into the K1 process right now. I thought the postings by Rex were some of the best posts ever on this board. I was somewhat taken aback by the mean spirited reacation they received by some of the regulars. I thought this was supposed to be an adult board where we could discuss adult subjects without fear of retaliation by the religious police. I guess I was wrong.

I am also wanting to see the additional posts by Go2Rus.  But I fear he
may have been driven away by the vicious attacks against him related to
his request for a vote on the sex issue.  Never have I seen such vitriol
directed to a non-troll poster.  Even the normally fair Jack and Dan
criticized Rex asking him what had he asked for the vote for if he didn’t
want it.  But if you read Rex’s rebuttal comments to those who attacked
him, he did not fault anyone for their vote, but rather he was trying to fend
off the unwarranted attacks on his character and those who deliberately
misread and misquoted his posts.  He had clearly stated that he was
changing the names, and wouldn’t report any information that could be
used to identify the ladies, yet many still kept claiming he was going to
expose the ladies.  

Also, I would like for all those who have never peed in street, peed in
swimming pool, parked illegally, smoked in a non smoking place, exceeded
the speed limit, etc., to step forward here and state that fact.  I would like
for all those who are never going to use viagra to step forward here and
state that fact.  Here was a guy who was simply reporting his day to day
activities without hiding anything, being very open and human with us, and
he was roundly attacked by holier than thou’s.

And as just an indication of the type of posters we have here, look at how
Rex was attacked by Dalton several times related to the vote post on 8 November.  Later on
Dalton asked for apartment help and Rex gave him more info than the rest of
the entire board combined, and Dalton would not even show the courtesy to
give thanks for it.

But why do I care since I normally lurk on the Asian board?  For at least
two reasons.  First, I think that Rex’s post number 55096 on 6 Nov 01 is
the single most valuable and informative thing that has ever been posted
here.  For those who do not agree, PLEASE TELL ME OF THE SINGLE
POST THAT IS A BETTER GUIDE TO THOSE WHO WANT TO
UNDERTAKE THIS QUEST.

Second, here was a guy who was going to tell us about his visits with 13
ladies.  Where else could we have read about such a venture that might be
of help to us?  If anyone knows, please tell me.  So what if it might have
told more than some wanted to hear?  Ever hear about skipping over
something you don’t want to read?  As KenC said, sex is an important part
of the relationship and what guy would not want to know something about
the methods and preferences of Russian women.

Perhaps if each and every poster who attacked Rex would post a sincere
apology here he might return and tell more of his story.

About the response to the "sex" issue, that is.
Go2Rus asked if he should post "graphic details".
I replied "No".  Plenty of others did, too.
Hardly a broad-based personal attack or a show of prudery.
So a few people on either side went over the top.  Big deal.
You guys seem to be having some kind of brawl almost every time I check in.

Hi Hal,

Good post. I just wanted to respond to your comment that I "criticized" Rex. In point of fact, I only asked a question - and suggested that Rex might feel a bit of obligation to follow the results from his poll. In retrospect, I guess my analogy to the Covey poster might have been seen as being critical - but it was due to my seeing how defensive Rex became when the tide turned a direction I think he didn't anticipate.

If you read my earlier post to Rex, I was even very careful NOT to offer my opinion on the topic.

To be entirely candid, I suppose I was hoping to see some of the more salacious material from Rex, but I was also interested in seeing the responses of the group to Rex's poll. Once in, I felt Rex owed it to the group to honor their wishes.

And just for the record - I am not always so "fair"! Don't want people to get the wrong opinion  --smile--.

I don't negate the fact that Go2Rus had some valuable input here on the Russian board.  Personally, I would encourage him to post some of his relative experiences here.
HOWEVER, he asked for the poster's opinions if he should post his sexual exploits and I gave him my OPINION.  I try not to attack people I only gave him what he asked for MY OPINION on the subject.  

I will not apologize for a solicited answer to a question.  As for the other posters.  Maybe they were a bit rough and even a little uptight about the subject but it just seemed that he came off more like he was bragging.  Perhaps I am totally wrong with that but I have met so many men (both young and old) who go over to the FSU and come back just to bragg about how many women they slept with. "Give me a break"  I say to this type of man that he needs to grow up and become a MAN.  

And "No", I am not calling Go2Rus this type of man but he did at least slightly give this impression by the way he posted.  At least he showed some modesty by asking others about the subject before going on.

Hal,
Talk about great posts!  You did yourself proud with this first one!  You have made many very good points.  I cannot understand how some of the posters here seem to be in denile about the obvious questions that SHOULD be asked regarding sexual attitudes/morals/experiences of RW.  I know I had a ton of questions on this subject before I went to Russia.  I guess it isn't PC enough to ask them here.  LOL.  As for peeing between buildings in a descrete location----give me a break.  To releave yourself is a normal human action.  It may not be "classy", but it sure is necessary.  In closing, my 22 year old son tells me that the hottest recreational drug on his college campus is VIAGRA.  Some minds will forever remain closed.  Thanks for posting, Hal.

My question is how in the heck could one spend much time on the internet while in the CIS? I was sooooo busy with the people I was with that I only had time to walk and see what thier internet cafes were like. Lots of young kids ( boys ) playing video games, suprised? Anyways I am happy to hear that the mentality of the board was not very interested in the boring details of one man's intimate life. That is one of the reasons why I feel it is important to decipher the material a poster writes. To me it is all about old fashioned courtship. Holding hands, a kiss goodnight and in general just enjoying one another's company and respecting the friendship. I would not like to think I was having intimate sex with my wife on the first date, first week, or even the first visit to the CIS. But that is just "my personal" preference and what I am looking for in general. I had the feeling the 2 girls I was most interested never had an intimate sexual relationship. I was more interested in treating them with respect anyways, not sex! To me people are basically the same the world over. Especially the younger generation in the CIS. They all know about and many live the lifestyle of nice dress, cellphones, internet, cafes, nightclubs etc. They are "intellectual people"! Very "civilized!" The economics is just at the present not as strong as in the U.S. But with the right leadership they have a much bigger growth potential. That does not mean these people are inferior in any way shape or form. There are positives and negatives in every situation. For me their utilitarian lifestyle complements mine much more than the fat, lazy and complacent one many Americans have chosen. That is the real reason of my interest in a woman from this region. It was a windy minus 3 celsius and the girl I was with was not bothered at all by the weather. She walked as though it was normal. See I am looking for someone with a little rugged interior. Someone who could enjoy the cold outdoors as well as an extreme in heat. I live in the South. I do not want to live with someone who will beach, whine and complain about how hot it is in the summer and how cold it is in the winter! Or who will talk about thier ex-wives or boyfriends! I am looking for an inner quality that will complement mine. So contrary to what many posters have written and it was confirmed by the women I talked to they have all kinds of sexual attitudes. Each of them are different just like women in our country! Personally if I even tried to have sex with the woman whom I was considered marrying I would hope she would lose much respect for me! There was an American PIG! whom I met in Kiev. He bragged about seeing 12 women and sleeping with 4 virgins. I was not impressed! In fact now I know why many of these women might turn into what we call scammers. See it is a normal survival of the fittest dating scene just like in any other modern capitalistic world. Enough said.

Ken,
Rex (Go2Rus) did not post from Russia.  His trip report was informative, interesting and very exciting to read.  Although too provocative for some of the posters here, I personally do not think the posts crossed the line of good taste (for adults).  In my opinion, he was not bragging about his conquests like your aquaintance in Kiev.  It is a shame that the narrow minds of a few interrupted some valuable information.
