Questions I posed to the Moscow embassy concerning the
opening of a provisional file, sending my fiancee the
packet and setting the interview date. The answers
from the embassy.
1. Q. How long is it taking Nebraska to get the INS
approval notification to you at the embassy?
A. Usually, it takes 4 weeks to get the approved
petition from the INS.
2. Q. Is phoning in to you the only way we can
determine if you have received the approval? Can I
fax or email on a weekly basis?
A. You may contact us via e-mail.
3. Q. You indicated that you need either the INS
notification or the original petition to open a
provisional file. What is the original petition?
A. The fiancee petition, that you filed with the INS.
4. Q. Does the INS notification have to come directly
from the INS? Or can I send you a fax of any approval
notification I receive from INS?
A. We need to get the petition or notification
directly from the INS.
5. Q. I tried to fax to you the same information that
I sent in my original email to you. The fax number
did not seem to answer. Is the correct number 095 728
5247?
