I have been considering different options to provide my fiancee with a computer, and have received several suggestions from the very helpfull people on this board. (Thank you!)

However, I think for our purposes, purchase of a new machine in Kiev may be the best option. Can anyone recommend a specific store with major name brands, and acceptable prices, that will accept a Visa (American bank) card?

Thanks, again...

I'll e-mail you some of their websites address of computer stores in Kiev.

I just saw on TV where Dell is offering a 1.5ghz CPU & 15" monitor plus 128mb ram for $699...  that's a deal, get ready to watch the computer companys offer cut throat competition during Christmas time... as the faster machines come on line...  No tellin what they'll price them at after Christmas !!!  Cash is king in tough times.

Here is my current stock ... (RPM) $12 stock, div. .50cents.
Check them out.  Go in at $8.89 about a month or so ago.

Lance,
Even if your computer knowledge is far superior to her's, let her do the shopping.  RU/W have a survival instinct that has been honed to near perfection.  She will be able to get the best deal available there.  It will take her some time as there are few "impulse buys" in the FSU countries.

I was in two computer stores in KIev in July just to see what they had. The Ukrainian built models were priced about the same as a HP or Compaque in US. Imports were quite a bit higher, 50 to 100 percent higher than the local product.
