Well, my fiancee has just returned from Moscow where she attended the interview as well as the medicals with her son. This was hopefully the last step in the whole procedure. Any Aussie guy on the board will know what I am talking about. Now we just have to wait for (hopefully) visa approval, it may take another couple of months, even more, but the main thing is that wheels are turning....

It's been a long wait for the interview (which are normally held for Ukrainian citizens in Kiev's Consulate every three months or so), as she lodged her application in May (!). After we returned from our holiday in early September, there was still no news. Then a phone call (last week)to my fiancee from the Embassy in Moscow asking her whether she could come for an interview to Moscow (!) this week (!). She said yes and so off they  went... 30 hours on the train - one way, interview, next day medicals, and another 30 hours back home...
Interview and medicals went very well so hopefully we can expect positive result. I talked to her last night, well actually it was a one hour monologue from her telling me the whole story of their trip.
It was an entertaining story indeed, especially about the interview itself.
Excited and tired, but happy, that's how she felt yesterday. Hopefully today I will have a chance to ask her some questions, too :-) after she has some rest.
