This is my first time searching for a woman from another country. I am not to sure about how things progress, but something stuck me as odd. I have been chatting with a lady from the Philippines for a couple days. Today she mentioned me buying her a phone so we could talk to each other. Caught me a little off guard. She said her phone was broke. I turned down the request politely and said I would like to chat and email some more to get to know each other. Is this something that happens a lot? She also stated she wanted to delete her account so she could focus on only me. After only 2 days I was surprised. Advice?

Getting a bit educated in this department in less than 48 hours is a actually rather fortunate. Nonetheless, I'd suggest you read up around here,  including in the archives. Some of these women have more tricks than Felix the Cat!

I have had similar situation as you.   I told these ladies who asked for me to buy them mobile phones that I am deaf, and cannot speak over the phone lol   (Yes, true I am deaf).    I told them that I am not buying them mobile phones so they could chat with their friends lol

As for reporting her, I'd wait until the second or third time in a 12 month period that she tells you that it's her birthday. Believe me it happens. Also, not sure if it's a 'Catholic thing', but I have had girls tell me their parents have died more than once.....

Maybe listening to that nonsense is the price we pay for looking at those pretty young things in their tight, low cut blouses, hoping they drop something on the floor and have to pick it up....

you're looking for the wrong women. Either you're looking for women that are too young or too good looking, or both.... you probably come across as too nice and that's why you're being targeted so fast..

The last girl (Dominican Republic) cried that she has to pay rent for the apartment that she lives alone, and did not want to live with her parents.   I told her that to go to live with them so she doesn't have to pay rent lol

And never, ever, ever discuss ANYTHING of a financial nature with new aquaintances. And stop using the handle "PNB" on line (Philippine National Bank)...  LOL
 
One way to handle the requests for money, no matter how dire she sounds, is to simply ignore it as if you didn't even hear it. They will either go away after one or two requests with no response, or drop the subject permanently. Try it and see what happens...
