Colombians the most unfaithful in Latin America

This is a pretty interesting statistic. I wonder why the numbers of cheating partners in Colombia is so high.

Colombian women is leading the pack at 59.2%, with Uruguay and Argentina having the lowest. These are for the people admitting they have an affair.

I wonder what the corresponding statistics of rate/percentage of STDs and nation's infidelity rates is.
I also wonder if countries that seem to have more European characteristics are generally less unfaithful.
Makes me think twice about just 'dipping my wick' any ole place down in Colombia!

I was wondering the same thing myself Robert.

According to the article the places with more European heritage are less likely to cheat namely Argentina and Uruguay.

I guess in those 2 countries men have more to lose hahahahahah

  Well counting the survey is over two years old and we really do not know who this group is that did the survey I doubt the Colombians are the biggest cheaters compared to the rest of S.A.

I seriously doubt that the results of an internet survey are scientific....so I would question the percentages....but if all the countries involved had equal access and a large enough sample size the relative standings of the countries is probably fairly accurate.


I think the economic realities of the various countries has a lot to do with whether a woman cheats or just walks away...a lot of colombian women just plain can not afford to leave their significant others and the fact that colombian men are notorious cheats probably helps them to justify their behavior.

Exactly, by this study it looks like they only have the highest percentage willing to tell the truth about it.

Cali pro Im in Cali... Lets meet up. I agree. In latin america women tend to stick around longer even if you cheat because they have less options compared to women in america. Options economically and in other aspects.

This is the reason I got suspicious of these results because i always felt that if there was a place that cheating should be more prevalent in Brazil because of their reputation for being liberal.

don't know much about how they did the study or it's validity...but i can see how a married guy in his 20's (rather typical there) would be tempted to stray with all the beautiful available babes at his fingertips..  take the men and women out of that sort of environment and i'd wager the %'s go back down to an average level.[size=78%] [/size]

 I asked my wife what she thought of that survey and of course I heard the usual " Do you guys always be stupid, always talking about something that is un true" I myself think she will deny everything if it talks bad about Colombia.

I agree 100% with this statement. The situation in Colombia seems to be driven by the men. There are so many gorgeous women available there that it is almost impossible to stay with just one lady. So that means there are some women who are being left at home alone, maybe some who are looking for revenge for the cheating husband. It is the making of a perfect storm. But take those same people, bring them to the States where there are a lot more people working, where it is a car oriented scene rather than pedestrian, more to lose with divorce settlements,  more people living structured lives rather than just out partying, "studying at the U", and chilling out in the streets, and I think the cheating frequency goes way down.
