Hi Tess!

Everyone here is fine. Migs sent most of her stuffed animals back home in the Balikbayan box for her pamangkin, but she still has Winnie the Pooh...  ;D

Do you have a Magic Sing for karaoke? Oh, how immature!  ;)

So you and Stephen are getting ready to pull a 'Dave H'? You lucky guys!

Tell your asawa I said hi.

Really?!?!  Because someone likes to sing karakoke, joke around and wants an Ipod this makes them immature?  Man, what planet do you live on?

Because they put a little too much emphasis on it IMO. Such as when the time when there were like 4 adults and 3 kids in my ex's house the day after a party, and one of the small children somehow got out the back door without anyone paying attention and semi-drowned, resulting in the child now being in a permanent vegetated state and will probably never walk, talk, or anything else. They were too busy goofing off to notice this was all happening.

Same thing happened on another party time when a kid got tied up in a rope that one of the fun loving Pinoy guys was pulling kids down the street on a plastic toy or something with a quad. The kid got badly injured.

That is what I am talking about....they take the fun to excess a bit and don't seem to worry about some very important things. I think that sort of thing is kind of normal for folks in their early 20's but not when they are in their late 30's and early 40's.

Maybe if my wife paid less attention to the Karaoke and shopping for Ipods, and paid more attention to our son, we would still be married or at least my son would want to go see his mom. But he doesn't because he said she never did anything with him as he was growing up because she was so absorbed in these other immature things.

Yeah, they all sound like a bunch of immature, murdering bastards!

It should be against the law for anyone over 30 to enjoy karaoke and have too much fun!

  Karaoke Kills!

I bet if your kid was one of the ones permanently injured by their blatant neglect while at the same time they were all having a good old time goofing off, you might indeed think too much karaoke is a crime.

And with all that Karaoke going on, you would have thought the Philippine population would flatline or at least show some signs of decreasing.

Yeah, damn those karaoke-heads for having karaoke rooms in trains in South Korea; for having in-car karaoke machine in China; for having karaoke  cabs all over the region and for having karaoke jockeys instead of disc jockeys.   :o

On a side note, thanks Ray for the mention, I  (we)  just added an item on our list to sent to the PI for x-mas -  magic sing.
Amazon had a nice one with 1,945 built-in songs plus we can/will get the TAG4 chip with 900 songs (50% Tagalog & 50% English). :P

Probably not a big problem while still in PI with limited funds (many times). But as soon as they get here and get hold of the credit cards, big screen TV's, etc. the situation can change a bit. Sometimes they get carried away with the immature, material things, which can lead to some big problems. IMO it seems to happen much more with the Filipinas than with US gals who have had the luxury of growing up here and are already used to the material things.

I am saying that happens to some of the ladies and guys from Phils. But most of the Filipinos I met are conscientious, hardworking, good parents.

Another thing that is absolutely shocking to me is the number of Filipinas who have no problem leaving their kids in the Phils with other family members who raise them while they go off to the US, Singapore, or the Middle East to begin their careers. I have seen this many times as well. And these same women are buying the new Honda Accords, expensive phones, etc, but give excuses they cannot go see their kids because they don't have enough money to travel.

Shocking to me......Hindi.  This have been covered in this forum before and to me it's all about knowing the culture & you will understand.

To me more shocking is the number of guys who go to an other country to find a mate BUT they cannot speak nor understand the woman's language while at the same time the woman cannot speak or understand their language.  I guess (inter)personal communications between the two are not important.  :o

Hey we did not have any problems at all during the first 3-4 years. But after that she fell more and more in love with Ebay, Filipino soap operas, and material things. Less and less about family things.

I don't care what kind of "culture" you are talking about, in my book anyone who is blowing cash on material things rather than visiting their own children, while leaving the children to be raised by someone else is not a really great parent in my book. It is a whole different story if the person is slaving away, sacrificing everything to give the kid a better life. But often this was not the case at all with the people I witnessed. It was simply a choice to live that way and accumulate meaningless material things rather than be with their kids.

My ex wife spoke English. No problem with language barrier.

Huh, I didn't say anything about your present or past relationship. Did I miss something?  :-\

Kareoke, imature? you know the best thing with a relationship between a woman and a man is being right and having the facts to shove down her throat....Maybe you should try Russia.....OMG  my lady is very intellegent and she knows how to laugh and have fun. Kareoke and stuffed bears make her happy then I will sing while I give her one. I know you have a great voice Ray which is your favorite???? By immature does he mean they don't scream at men, instead they giggle? I will take the later, please send more details.
Married 10 years to Visayan lady, thanks to the help from planet-love.
