Yea Piglett--Go out and see the movies 'Safehouse'  and 'Contraband' now, because in a while it's going to be all 'chick flicks'. If you have pigletts--errr 'kids'--get used to PG rated flicks.

I cringe everytime they make a new movie from a Nicholas Sparks novel!

Actually we do go to a action/crime/drama flicks, but every once in a while, I let her pick something not to my taste. Last week, we went to see 'The Vow', starring the ladies heart throb Channing Tatum (what a name for a musclebound actor) a couple weeks back--it was lame!
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

Worse thing about shopping for her is that occasionally I'll get something that she says she likes, but REALLY she doesn't like it too much and it doesn't get worn. Happened with what I thought was a nice lambskin leather skirt in black, but I should've known that's not her style.

Maybe she doesn't want to offend me, although we're pretty honest and open on our tastes and opinions.
Precisely why I don't shop for her clothes.  I know my wife well enough that I can recognize that smile that says: I really don't like this, but I know you mean well and I appreciate the effort and don't want to hurt your feelings, so I hope you don't mind if this goes in the back of the closet and never sees the light of day again.
...a wife should be always a reasonable and agreeable companion, because she cannot always be young.

I don't think that the pigster have been to a movie theater in ages - too expensive.  ;D

My wife is more of an action/horror/scifi person than a 'chick flicks' person.  She watch all the action/scifi/horror movies from "Night of the Living Dead" to "Terminator" to "Underworld"to "Battle Royale". On the weekend tell me to put in a martial arts movie so we can watch together. She also have watched a few of my Akira Kurasawa & Zatoichi collection on her own.
If we were all forced to wear a warning label, what would yours say?

Well piggy, Robert said PG rated flicks for you, I would say G rated.  :P

Piggy did you a karaoke machine yet? You will need one.
And if you do not have a voice like Neil Diamond, let Marily do the singing.  ;D

If you do get one, try not to sing Frank Sinatra's signature tune "My Way"-For some reason unbeknownst to me, (modesty?) it's considered bad manners among Filipinos to do that one...

May I suggest Air Supply's 'You're Every Woman in the World to Me"?  ;)

Not really bad manners but.....
Let just say that if you sing that song in the PI - it could end up being the last song you sing in the PI. The song have been ban in a lot of karaoke bars.

I found a dollar bookstore and stocked up on all his novels. The Vow was the last movie we saw, perhaps the movie would have worked if they picked actors who looked like the real folk they flashed to at the end. And they better not be lying about only one Twilight being left.

I will give Nicholas Sparks props for doing an accurate representation of a US Special Forces soldier's life, a lot of mobile training missions and not all kicking in the doors as Army Rangers do.

guys i don't need a karaoke machine machine.
i can't sing for sh*t  :o
all the dogs in town mite join in ;D :D ;D
Marily can't sing either so i think i am safe.

i'll have to start getting more low key movies.
i mostly go in for hard core action movies.
you know lots of @ss kicking & plenty of gun play.
however i'll watch other types provided there is a good plot.i don't think some of the chick flicks meet this criteria though 8) Marily would rather play a board game or uno than watch tv most of the time.
i plan on teaching her chess. that should be interesting.

Piggy, forget about the board game, uno or teaching her chess - she is not a 85 year old lady.  ::)

Get your butt over to Wallyworld or one of the other stores and get yourself a gaming system - PS3, Wii or 360.
Not only will you have a gaming system where the two of you can play games together but you can also use the console to stream live tv as well as movies & tv episodes on Netflix & Hulu. Netflix is only $7.99 a month (unlimited viewing) & a 1 month free trial to test drive it to see if you like it.

'Regular' Hulu is free but it is SD & the selections are limited and can only "officially" access it on a computer whereas Hulu Plus is $7.99 a month, some contents on HD, you get a much wide selection &  can be access via multiple devices.

Piggy, you better get ready for when she start to get homesick.

My wife and her Filipina friends like Uno too. I've picked up some Uno games at the flea market to send home-I can see half the barangay betting a peso per game already. Connect Four is popular too.

I think chess might be a little too 'heavy' for some Filipinas, who might not want to get all emotionally tied up in the game as it gets tense or to irritate others when they for instance, take your queen or rook. They wouldn't like it happening to them either--a lot of them prefer faster paced, more light hearted fun. No wonder badminton is so popular there.

I tried introducing water polo over there, but I had a really hard time getting the horses into the hotel pool......

If you can get through that list without tossing your cookies, you must be completely PW. There's only one song you need to be able to sing to impress the ladies at the karaoke machine....

Jeff the pigster have a lot of making up to do for forgetting Valentines and also for her birthday. That song may not only get him roasted but also baked and fried.     :-X
Oh wait, that may actually earn him some points if he can sing that song, C'mon MC Piggy.   ;D

Piggy, did she tell you "That's Okay" after you missed Valentines and all the other events day?

There are a few words a lady will say to you that have a completely different meaning than what you think - "That's Okay" is one of them.

THAT'S OKAY: This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. At some point in the near future, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.  ;D
