The way I look at it is if you find something good and worth having, you go for it. I was on line with my wife for about 2 months and knew that there was something that had to be either moved to the next level or discarded. I went to meet her within 4 months of first contact.

If she is just mad at you, your fate will likely be to have a pole shoved up your butt and be roasted alive.

But if she is REALLY, REALLY mad, then she will first take her bolo and skin you alive, and then shove the pole up your butt!  ARAY!

Dave isn't exactly telling you to lie--just to 'bend the truth' a bit!

Like if I'm gone all day fishing and don't catch a damn thing (skunked) I stop by the fish store on the way home and buy a nice, big fish, but I INSIST that the clerk toss the fish over the counter to me.

That way, I can truthfully tell my wife that I caught a whopper!

That's an honorable policy.  But not bringing it up is also a kind of lie by omission.  Best thing might be to just go hog's belly up and humbly deeply apologize for cluelessly forgetting the day.  Then make up for it with a massive St. Patrick's Day gift (if you got any Mic in your blood) or Easter basket (if she's still in the Phils in early April).
