Best way to learn Spanish before traveling

BUT, one resource is head and shoulders above the rest for a beginner.  http://www.michelthomas.com/

I made FAAAAR more progress in being understandable and understanding Spanish after his course.  It got me over the hump (and this is where I remain:)   At least, from now on learning Spanish is a puzzle that I am enjoying now, and making fast progress with.

Zon sounds like you´re making great headway but that would be "buena suerte"

Pretty much all the courses, audio books, etc described are available in lightly used condition from the usual on line resellers at deep discount.

hahaha - or i should say, jejeje ..

"buena suerte"  roger that!   Let's just say, struggled progress, but progress nonetheless. 

It did not come easy to me.  And, I think I will not stop learning Spanish for a very very long time.  It's OK by me.  I have begun to actually enjoy it, rather than just faking it to meet pretty women.  Life is lived in chapters and phases
