Why would you want to submit a criminal background check and to whom?

If you're talking about the fiancée petition, you do not submit a background check. The government will do it’s own if one is needed.

This is exactly why people quit coming to this site and contributing. There are a few guys here, william being one of them, that are just cynical asses and contribute more smart ass comments and actual useful information. I new you couldn't not reply to my posts. I remember why I blocked you before.tx

Do you mean IMBRA compliance?  Like when you're starting to use an agency and they need a background check on you?  I thought that's done through your local police to verify you're not a wanted criminal or have a nasty criminal background.  No?

Welcome back, Crash--sounds like a great trip after a rough start! As far as I know, Sheena is the one who has to get clearance from the police where she lives as part of the process of coming over here. I imagine you both did your hand written letters to bring over here explaining your intentions--at least hers, which has to be handwritten. She can send it via the mail and you can still do yours (hand written) if you haven't. Good luck, you'll get er done....
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

The statements do not have to be handwritten, but they should have an original signature and date.

Note for crash or anyone else contemplating filing a fiancée petition:

For starters, go to the USCIS Web site and download a copy of Form I-129F AND the accompanying instructions.

The information in those 2 documents will answer most of your questions about what you need to submit with the petition and will get you started in the right direction.

Then if you have any questions, just ask and someone here will help you out.

We did get her letter and I had her fill out the 325 so I had her information for when I need it. She has a passport and she did get her police clearance the other day. She didn't look at it until she got home and they speller her name wrong. It was corrected today.

The paperwork can be a little much at first but just read it over a few times and it will make sense.

www.immigration.com is a great site also. They break it down step by step.

>>>just read it over a few times and it will make sense<<

Very true. But I read it two dozen times, and just made myself more confuzed, reading things into it that weren't there...
