Definitive Dominican Republic

First off, in the way of disclosure, I could not find my old password, so I just opened a new account with a similar name.   I have posted here at length on Colombia last year.  I had also spent much time in the DR over the past 3 years.  I have just returned from a 1.5 month trip covering the entire island - and the benefit of two recent relationships with Eastern European women and living in Cali for 8 months last year.   The bottom line = the Dominican Republic is a fun place, but the odds are VERY remote on finding a serious woman who is your equal.

This comment covers all geographies - I have been to them all (even the little mountain towns that NEVER see visitors).   This comment covers all classes.   Alas, this comment is only a generalization; so, as always exceptions can apply.

The women sell their "services" like the street vendors sell their sunglasses.  Even when the meetings are not overly commercial, there is certainly a have / have not feeling in the air.  It is just not fair.  There is not enough monetary, and social, and emotional freedom for a women to enter into a relationship consensually - or at least not with the same liberties that consent implies in the USA.  I feel a little guilty in writing this - but the people are primitive.  I do not know how a man can take a woman out of those environments and mix that person into a modern life.

So, I hope I have succeeded in drawing a very cautionary line. But, there are beautiful women that will treat almost anybody like gold in return for love, affection, and physical support. 

The sex tourism scene has cut a deep ditch.  There are stereotypes at work before you open your mouth.  Interestingly, the sex tourism industry is two sided.  I saw a ton of hot young European girls that were looking for their vacation Tarzan - they are not hard to find.  I say older, unattractive women too - they found the same men willing and able.  There is virtually no deliberation.  Coin operated machines they are!

But, if you are serious and can not be dissuaded ... there is a Catholic University in Santiago.  That is where I found the best pool of good prospects.

Now, if you are just an adventurer, just through the dart at the map  -  you will find a beautiful country and beautiful people and tons of Presidente (the national beer that is delicious) everywhere.  If you have any specific questions, just give me a PM and I will try to point you in the right direction.

For me, the target seems more and more obvious - skinny, lighter skinned, and more refined women, close to the USA = Medellin.  That will be my next trip.   August and September.

During one of my rough streaks with my fiancee, I decided to at least start with some preliminary chatting with some Dominicanas to see if there might be better opportunities there. At first it seemed like they were more sincere and easy going, but soon came to the realization that was not really the case. Seems like there are a lot of games being played there, more so than Colombia.

And although I love morenas, it seemed like the girls really aged rough. They had photos from a few years ago on their profiles, and then when you saw them on the webcam, it was like they were 10 years older. Who knows maybe the pics were really from 10 years ago and it was all lies in the first place.

wait until you get to medellin, you will see gringos there specifially looking for prepagos, many many in poblado, laurles and the most popular...... parque  lleras,  and now adventuring out into smaller areas and towns of medellin. sex tourism is on the go there also.

They call themselves "sportsmen" and other slang names.   The truth is they are nothing of the sort. 

Don't get me wrong!  I do not judge others.  I am as guilty as anyone as taking a good time too far.  But, when vices become too concentrated it creates a bad feeling that floats in the air.

 It gives all men travelling to Latin America a bad name when those guys are only looking for some action. They fly down dressed ridiculously
for the weekend to, "Hit it and forgit it" which in turn gives the ladies the impression that all men are truly animals. Not only the ones in their
native country, but even the supposedly nice ones from outside. Most figure that you are expecting something for the flight in (more than dancing and talk).

I don't like the idea of getting played (never was) but in a way I understand the reasoning behind what some of the ladies are doing to screw over the gringos.
They feel (I'm guessing & what my lady tells me) that since it's more than likely they are going to get burned by some old, balding fat gringo they should at least
get something for it. Well at least I'm not fat!

I agree 100% with this statement. I have dated women from many different countries, rich girls, poor girls, all shades of skin color, solid families, broken families, educated, non-educated. And they are all pretty much the same.

 And from the countries I have been to, the men are pretty much the same too. They like women, booze, sports, cars, etc.

On the surface I also 100% agree.  But if you dig deeper there are significant differences with values, morals, traditions, religion and relationships.  

We are not just all alike!  

For example a Japanese woman and a Latina babe.  Both dress trendy, both love Prada and Gucci, but a Japanese woman is totally submissive to her man by tradition.  

The Latina?  Whoa!!

A Latina expects her man to be a man and if he can't be, well somebody's got to wear the pants. I think superfically a Latina is more inclined to express her opinions but when push comes to shove, she's not that different from the Japanese woman. She wants the guy to take charge.
