Are there no good marriage agencies in Mexico? Why does everyone go Colombia?

I would think that it would be much closer to go to Mexico..  Are there no good agencies there?

I believe there are services, none that I have heard recomended though.

Some of the reasons people mention why Colombia is so popular:

1) The women are generally more attractive.  Don't get me wrong, I spent 6 months attending a University in Puebla, Mexico and there was no shortage of incredibly attractive co-eds on campus.  Off campus however, it was more like the USA. But in Colombia you could see beautiful women everywhere.

2) More favorable view of gringos. There is a certain amount of anti-gringo sentiment among Mexicans that is not shared by Colombians.  Americans are kind of a novelty to Colombians as most are too afraid to visit there, where as tons of North Americans visit Mexico to indulge in bad behavior and hit on their women.  Also probably more mexicans are familiar with the US and Canada and know life here is not the paradise some Colombians might think.

3) Age factor.  it is not uncommon for Colombian women to date guys 30 years older than them.  Mexican women are more like American women when it comes to age difference.

4) Colombian guys have reputations as bigger pigs than Mexican guys.  That makes Colombian women more open to dating foriegners.

5) Colombia is probably worse off financially and safety wise than Mexico. Women probably have more limited career options in Colombia. 

There are other reasons I am sure.

I would tend to agree with Quixote. Although if you look at the numbers there are probably far more Mexicana/Gringo marriages than anything else.

Well, it just seems that nobody has been to the Meican agencies.. Don't know why, certainly much closer.  They didn't seem overly expensive either.

One guy has a trip report listed of visiting 2 different agencies in Peru and he seemed to have a terrible time!  Girls were mostly no shows, scammers, the agencies not being helpful, not caring, etc..  I just want to know of a really good, honest, reputable agency- either in Peru, Colombia or hopefully Mexico.. 

After the Russian woman thing, I guess I am struggling as I have found the Eastern European women to be generally very slim and attractive..  When I go to some of the Latin sites, I am attracted to fewer women and many seem heavier, you know??  (I am on the slim side).  But the scammer/selfishness of many of the Russian girls is just really discouraging.. Most don't believe in God and I think have little trouble lying to get what they want, not that the Russian guys don't help make them that way.  I'm thinking perhaps more of the Latin girls believe in God (like 98% are Catholic) thus giving them some conscience, you know? (I am not an overly religious guy, just felt that maybe girls that DO believe might be less scamworthy?).   

I am 50 and in good shape, looking for a 33-38 yr old (because I would still like to have a child if I could).

I have Ukrainian background on my Mother's side and speak the language and can understand some Russian.. I never went after eastern bloc women for many of the reasons you have listed in other posts..

1. Don't be so worried about expenses. Do the dating part cheaply, marry her, get her over here, and you might find yourself getting hammered in divorce court.

2. Don't limit ourself to agencies. There are plenty of success stories from personals sites.

3. Morality and religion have nothing to do with each other. Some of the most upstanding women you will find are Buddhist or Atheist. Latinas may be mostly catholic but they are not necessarily religious in the American sense of the word.

Have you thought about Filipinas? They tend to be thin, religious, and from almost all accounts are selfless, loyal partners.

I grew up in a Mexican neighborhood, and not sure I'd date a Mexican girl. From my experience, their attitudes are not much different from AW, and they tend to explode weight-wise during the first pregnancy.

You might consider the Asian side.  I'm 53 married for almost 8 years to a 28 y.o. Filipina and just had my 3rd child.  Plus Filipinas speak English, similar politics, and don't believe in divorce.  If you know a Filipina you know 3-4 potential mates because they all want to bring their friends/family here.  Looks, money, age, hair and such don't mean much on the scale of a block to marriage and Filipinas will marry a jerk and spend the rest of their lives trying to make it work.  Of course, their are users but we'll help yo learn some of the red flags.

I don't know why you'd need an agency in Mexico. Plan a trip to Guadalajara, hop on Amigos.com and set yourself up with as many dates as you can handle. It's an easy, safe, and inexpensive trip from the US. Mexicans are very friendly in Mexico, especially if you speak imperfect Spanish. Bring a laptop along in case you need a few plan B dates, and there you go.

Welcome to the board.

My general thoughts echo everbody else. 

1.  Go to the public library, borrow travel books and read up on the countries in which you might be interested in visitng.  Pick one and throw your emotional energy into it and focus.   
2. If, its in CA, or SA, learn Spanish, not fluently, but enough to have a good conversation.
3. If you want to join an agency, Colombia probably has the most developed agency structure-in Bogota, Cali, Medellin, Cartagena Baranquilla and Manizales
4. The best agencies (IMHO) in Colombia are International Introductins in Baranquilla yes, expensive for the premium service, but the service is first class.  (talk to raycjs) But you do not have to spend $1475 plus lodging for the premium packgae, you can buy 30 addresses for something like $150, whittle them down and then visit and meet a few and pay for a translator, if you need one.   I think the price then is about $75 an introduction,

Latin American Introductions in Bogota, Colombian Sweehearts in Medellin, and there are smaller agencies in Bogota, as well.  latin Life Mates (in Bogota) has been around for 17  years, but is going through a transition with a new web site, but the help in the office is first class.

I 'm not knowledgeable about Cali (other guys on the board are) and at the moment, Cartagena doesn't have a customer service oriented agency.

If you want to do the Internet search and join a web site, i thiink its about 25 a month,  pick a city, start contacting women, try to weed them out and if you go to Medellin or Bogota or Cali, Lima or wherever, make sure you ahve at least a  pool of 10 or 15 women, WOVO (write one, visit one) can work and some of the guys have found novias and wives, but its a real gamble.

Mexico.  All I can say is do the Wal-Mart test. I live in Tucson, AZ, an hour north of the border and when I walk through a Wal-mart, I try to spot attractive Mexican women 30-40,its an oxymoron. Childbirth, life in the US Mexican food and junk food is a lethal combination for Mexican women.

Brazil, enormous country, not much of a personal introductions  agency structure and dangerous as hell in the big cities. 

Peru, uniquely beautiful women, talk to singlefather on the bard.

You'd think Mexico would be a logical choice to find a nice Latina due to it's proximity to the States but the agency scene is dismal to say the least.  I used an agency in Guadalajara a few years ago and it couldn't compare to some of the better agencies in Colombia like LAI.  Their web site hasn't been updated in some time and I heard the American owner had some problems with the government and left the country.

There seems to be even more of a stigma about joining an agency in Mexico than there is in Colombia but like Quixote pointed out, living in Mexico is a whole different ball game (Colombia too for that matter).  As a result, the pickin's at a Mexican agency are slim.

If your heart is set over the Rio Grande, I'd give http://mexicancupid.com/ a try, otherwise save your pennies and  visit Colombia for an extended stay.

Go eat some Tex-Mex and it might give you a better understanding of the fattiness that occurs when American and Mexican cuisines collide.

There are some extremely good looking young Mexicanas, but all young. My opinion is that once they get pregnant, they figure they've snagged a man into a shotgun marriage and they no longer have to care about their looks and let themselves go.

I have also been unwittingly been doing the Wal-Mart test for years. I did the Target Test today. What starts out as exotic looks and culture eventually can eventually become like fingernails on a chalk board when you are around it 24/7. Everything seems to begin going south for many Latinas after their quinceanera.

My wife and I go to the Spanish Mass at our church every other Sunday and there are plenty of Mexican-American MILFs. Sure there are gorditas but also some mighty fine older ladies who haven't let themselves go. For a while I was involved with a Mexicana from Leon who was in her early 40s and extremely attractive. So while I would agree that the majority don't age well, there are still many who stay appealing.
