Part 1 - My thoughts, notes, advice on Chiclayo , Peru..

I have been very busy since I came back last week and have not had a chance
to post much.. My trip was great and I really enjoyed Peru and the time with
my Novia. The chemistry was there from the first minute we met in person
and I had to get her to let me come up for air at the airport. Lol

My Novia is stunning and her beautiful pictures don’t do her justice. A older
Lady from the USA came up to her in the lobby of the hotel and told her she
was very beautiful.. I fell in love though with her heart , sincerity and
happy demeanor.. I also like the fact that she has taken a sincere interest
in my children.. She went a little overboard on my 2 kids.. She bought my
daughter about 15 necklaces , 17 bracelets and 7 rings.. They were not
gold or silver but had many precious stones and my daughter was so happy
that she cried when she got them.

I am finally getting some feeling back into my lips , wow Latinas really
like to kiss and talk about affectionate. If you have a Latina wife , Novia
or Girlfriend you know what I am talking about. If you don’t you have
not lived till you do. No offence to guys with wives from other countries.

When we first met she came running with a big hug and many kisses.
I was a little embarrassed since her father was there with us. He was
looking up into the air and not watching us it seemed. We got
into the taxi and away we went to my hotel..”The Gran Hotel “or
called by people in Chiclayo “ The hotel Chiclayo”.

This is a wonderful hotel with great security. It has a beautiful pool
with palm trees around it and a 24 hour business center with 5
brand new computers with hi speed internet. The hotel also has
wifi throughout the whole hotel if you bring your laptop. It was
$70.00 a night and the service was simply fantastic. The hotel has
2 restaurants and a 24 hour room service. The 11 days I was in Peru
I never had a problem with the power going off or a lack of hot
water. If you have any problems , concerns or need help or advice
see Hector the assistant manager and he will take care of it. Most
of the staff speak good English. The cable service seemed quite good
here and there was a wide range of channels at the hotel and at my
Novia’s family condo including 3-4 english channels. I know her
Nephews love all the Disney channels. She also had high speed
internet at her condo.

Chiclayo is a fairly new city being only 140 years old. I found it quite
clean and very safe. Chiclayo I am told is a business city and is
growing and expanding. Regarding safety my Novia only let me take
secure taxi’s that is taxi’s you call & order and not flag down. Taxi’s
are so cheap , wow. A 12 minute taxi ride will run you around 3-4 sols
or a buck to $1.25.. She and her family would not let me take a moto taxi
as it is dangerous if you get in an accident. They never take one either.

The food here is to die for.. . wow these folks can cook.. The sauces are out
of this world.. Great Chinese food and traditional Peruvian food. I was very
careful what I ate , drank bottled water or Pop. I am not a beer drinker so
I did not try any beer. I highly recommend the Pisco sour drink. It has
A nice kick to it.. I took my Novia out to dinner one night along with her
2 best friends that I invited and wanted to get to know better. We had a great
dinner, desert along with 3 bottles of a nice Peruvian red wine all for $ 40.00.
wow.

I found the people of Chiclayo to be very warm and Friendly.. They were always
asking how I liked their city and country.Chiclayo is in a tropical climate and it gets
very cold in their winter all the way down to a low of 72 F. lol…The people always
seemed to be smiling and very happy…

***There are a lot of very beautiful women of all ages in Chiclayo.*** By the way
that girl  I was mentioning in my post from Peru is 20 years old. She was a real
sweetie pie and my Novia took pictures of her if anyone is interested.

The school where my Novia takes her evening english class has over 2000 students
and has a fair size school building.

Well that is all for tonight….

Your Novia sounds like a really good person and that you had a wonderful time.

Must have been difficult leaving.. I know it would be for me.

Here is a youtube video I found on Chiclayo , Peru.

My attempts to embed the video are not working.. Can anyone fix it ?

47 seconds into the video it showed the outside of the hotel where I stayed.

Observations:
1. Looks like a pretty city. They make nice use of bold colors on the exteriors of the buildings
2. That announcer talks too fast.
3. A good 50% of the cars seem to be taxis.
4. If you click on the link and watch it over on YouTube, they offer several more videos on the same city.
5. Watching the other videos, one gets the idea that they grow a lot of mangos and do a lot of fishing. They also have a "topitop" contest, the main idea of which appears to be to have girls (from 6 to maybe 26) wear bikinis and act stupid.

Question-Did you go on that derelict looking boardwalk called "Pimentel Muelle"?

+1 on Peruvian food. One of the best in Latin America. The herbs and spices have a great balance, unlike many other LA country's cuisines.

Felicitaciones, Senor!

Your post brings back memories. When a Latina is nuts about you she doesn't care who's watching you kiss. My wife scandalized her sister when they met me at the Bogota airport for the first time. She had never seen her sister kiss a man (even her first husband) and here she was making out with a guy she just met in person for the very first time. She thought that my wife had completely lost her mind and yet she was envious as well.
