I get a call on my machine.  Everyone remember the killer deal I got on tickets for my wife's trip back?  Three-something, DTW to Manila and back?  WELL... we got 'em through a friend of hers who works for Northwest.  She bought 'em on that buddy deal.  We paid, upfront, for the round trip ticket.  Guess who got laid off?  You guessed it!  Now I'm told that Ayesa's return ticket is no good.  It wouldn't be a big deal if I hadn't sent every available penny to my wife already!  I was literally thinking, "... well at least I won't have to buy a ticket"!  Rowena's message was, "I got laid off, Ayesa's ticket is no good... call me..."

Last year, Ron Perry booked it for me.  Does anyone have his phone number?  I'm still looking into this, but I figured I'd better prepare for the worst.  See Ray, I have learned alot about married life :c)

Ahhhhhh, I'm sure I'll calm down and remember how much I love my wife in a few minutes.  Grrrrrrr...

Any help is appreciated :c)

hi howard,
well i am sorry that this has happened, but i am glad she is ready to return.
when i went to get joanne and jay the people at nwa in manila were just great. now this is the office across from the embassy, not the jerks at makita! they got me a return ticket as i open ended to get there as fast as possible with no return. they didnt charge for jay as he had medical problems.but he didnt need a seat either. my cost was 743.00 one way manila to raleigh n.c. less than was on the net. and less than i could get it from anyone else. they have a site www.nwa/asia
that list the fares from there to the us. i am not sure about the url, but they have a seperate site for asia.
good luck and just keep digging.

Hey Howard,

Don’t sweat the small stuff! I know how you’re feeling about now, but it could always be worse. You could be in the military and get orders to ship out for the Himalayas. Or you could have a little son with big medical problems like Jim & Joanne. Or you could be the one who got laid off like Ayesa’s friend. Or you could be trapped in a big barrel of fish heads with no way out. Or …
You get the picture :-)

Just take a big deep breath and thank God for what you have and everything will work out fine I’m sure.

Hang in there dude!

Dear Howard - how much more can go wrong??? I suggest you call Northwest Airlines directly, tell them about Ayesa's situation (her father critically ill - often airlines make exceptions in such cases!) - make sure you keep copies of everything you received and paid for so far. Best wishes!!!

PS: I cannot continue to post since my presence is undesired by Patrick. There are plenty of dial-in ISPs available, but I am getting tired of playing this game, with Patrick blocking one after another. I cannot "register" with this board or any other for personal reasons. Thus I say "bye" for good...

I wouldn't make the assumption that when an internet service provider you use gets placed on the password required list that it's because of you.  I block them when an obvious troll or spammer uses the service to post.

I can't think of any conceivable personal reason that would prevent someone from registering, other than paranoia.  Why not continue posting from mcbone.net???  Sounds like a pretty obscure internet provider and not likely to spawn a troll and get placed on the password required list since there's probably few people posting to the board through them.

Well, the "obvious troll" you are chasing is indeed me - you have blocked both my servers in US plus my secondary  ISP in Berlin, I doubt there are any more Berliners trolling around here ;-) My political stand admittedly is somewhat leftist, which occasionally raises sentiment here...

Of course I can continue to use mcbone.net unless you put it on the "banned list". I cannot register through mcbone though, since I don't have an e-mail account with them plus your software disallows e-mail accounts through yahoo, hotmail (mcbone) and the like... My "true" e-mail indeed is sensitive information.

Thus it is time to say good-bye for good...

Your Berlin ISP is not on the password required list.  I assume you're talking about viaginterkom.de because I searched down the page and found some posts from that server from someone going by "cc".

Perhaps you posted a URL on the SPAM list and encountered a "board not to be used for promotion" message and thought that meant you were required to register. Or perhaps your ISP had a problem and you were unable to access the sight and you assumed your ISP was blocked.  When a server goes on the password required list, users can still read the board, they just can't post without registering.

Unless someone trolls or spams the board their ISP does not go on the password required list.  I think you're just confused or perhaps a bit paranoid.

Be sure to drop by and let us know when you finally get married to your Asian dream girl. I think you've been looking long enough now, so you better hurry up and pick one before you wither from old age.

Good luck!

My Brother works for NorthWest Airlines, I used buddy passes for two round trips to RP at $238 each as recently as June. From what I understand, the ticket cost is taken out of the Employee's pay check several weeks after the ticket is used. The Friend should refund the return amount of ticket, becuz the return amount hasn't been taken out of her pay check. Buddy Passes aren't paid for in advance, only after tickets are used. And the dates can easily be changed on the Buddy passes, since your Friend is an ex employee she should be able to find another Northwest Employee to help with that return ticket. You can call the Northwest Airlines for information on her buddy pass. Peabody
