Hello Guys,

Over the past few years, I have visited russia and ukraine. I have had some success there but I thought I would research my options here. In the russian search, men seem to be getting away from the bigger cities and focusing on the smaller ones. But as I see on the Latin sites, the agencies are primarily based in big cities. And there are so many agencies!
My questions to everyone are what areas of south america (colombia, Peru, etc) can a man focus on in finding sincere women who don't mind living in smaller american cities? Also, if a man wanted to move to Colombia or Peru or other south american countries, how much would he need a month? (in ukraine, $500 a month plus owning a flat is well off)
I am also a little cautious since I am familiar with the good and bad agencies in ukraine but have little knowledge of good agencies in Colombia and Peru. (Any agencies outside of these countries?)I am interested in personal introduction agencies, not parties. I notice that unlike the russian agencies, the south american agencies don't have search engines to see what women are in the agency. I am not looking for women younger than 26.
  Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Mike:
Red Clay is right. $500 a month not including rent is very livable in much of Latin America, particularly if you stay away from the resorts, major metropolitan areas, and aren't a party animal. From your post it sounds like you're not. If you're willing to do some work, like teaching English, and like to dance, you'll probably run into all the young single girls you can handle even without agencies, if you elect to stay in smaller cities and towns.

As for which country is best for you and the country vs small vs large city questions, here are a couple of posts I made in the past that might be of some interest.

In Lima, 500 per month is living comfortably (better than most Peruvians) if you don't have to pay rent/mortgage out of that, or doable even if you do. 1000-2000 per month can be almost luxurious living in a nicer area including maid, cable/internet, frequent entertainment and some travel within the country which is safe to do (and pretty cheap) throughout using a little common sense. Health care is good quality and cheap. Weather is good in their summer every time that I have been there. Their winter is cloudy/misty/cool. Peru's coast is desert, the landscape is barren once you are out of the cities and towns.

Most guys on here who have relationships with Peruanas are happy, including me. There is an agency in Lima called Matching Systems that some guys here have used with success. I think there is a link to their website on this site listed under Latin Agencies. My wife is happy living in the country (TN) but that just depends on the person I think.

As a decent looking gringo, you will get lots of attention there, even more in the smaller towns. You will achieve near celebrity status in some of Peru's small towns. I think it would be a good choice.

Guys,

Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like south america would require more finances than living in ukraine. Of course, if I met a woman to live with, my income and hers probably wouldn't be a problem.
As for choices of cities, I am not sure as I only know about Cali, Lima, Barranquilla, and Bogota from reading travel books. I would need to know the cost of living of each and any differences in available women to make an informed decision. Why no agency network in Brazil?
With all of the marriage failures, I would prefer to move in about 4 years (I am 36 years old) to another country if I found a woman. That does not mean I would not consider bringing a woman here but if I did, she would have to be over 25 years old. My income would be $500 a month from savings until my pension would kick in at age 50 ($1200 a month plus the $500) and then my military pension adding $400 at age 60. So, that would be $500 a month from age 40 to 50, $1700 a month from age 50 to 60, and then $2100 a month after 60.
I may also consider taking a course on teaching English to supplement my income and give me something to do. I have a college degree.

Civi, Medellin is the most beautiful large city in Colombia with a great climate. the women (piasas) are very attractive and you have CSH for intros. it has been mentioned in this thread that you checkout Barranquilla and Bogota. definitely go, you have some good agencies to choose from there including LDT in BAQ and LAI in Bogota but while i enjoy these cities they probably would not be my first choice to live. BAQ is very hot! and the climate in Bog is crappy. Cali has nice sections but the women are more party girls than other areas. but if you want to check it out, there are many agencies in Cali. i recommend ACG.  some gringos are settling in CA including Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama all relatively stable countries but finding a good woman there is entirely doable but a little more challenging. i dont know Lima but some guys have used matchingsys.  I would try two cities. Let me know where yu decide to go first and I will fill yu on places to checkout. By the way, if you meet a nice woman in Colombia, San Andres Island is a cool place to chill for a few days with your novia

Papi,

Could you spell out the agency names? You mentioned Medellin as an option. Are there many agencies there as I did not see any on the internet?

Hi,
I am not Papi, but I have been in contact with Colombian Sweethearts in Medellin.  If all goes well, I will be there in March.  I was in Cali this past August.  I used Latin-Internet at that time.  If you don't already know, Cali has several agencies, and Medellin has just a couple.  There has recently been much controversy concerning two partners that had a falling out, but most of the posters here seem to speak highly of Colombian Sweethearts, so I plan on giving them a try.  Steve Valdez, an american, owns the agency. He has several latinas on staff, and a lady named Luz Maria is his office manager.  Good luck.

I spent a lot of time also in Russia/Ukraine and also throughout eastern europe.
Yes, in recent years the smaller cities are where the guys are heading to now, Lugansk, DNK, Kherson, Sevastopol. I have a good friend in fact who is retiring to Lugansk in February.
Although I prefer the Colombians, the most sincere women I found in south american were in Peru. I don not think a Peruvian for the most part would care where you lived.
If you go there try matchingsys.com   If you want to meet  women 26+ through an agency in Colombia then I would try Bogota. (Although these women tend to be more educated and cultured and maybe some not not like living in a small city here) If you want sincere women then I would try Barranquilla. Simple, friendly girls that would probably be happy anywhere with a nice guy. Both these cities have good agencies. Do you speak spanish? It is a big plus to learn the language.
Feliz Navidad

Regarding preference for life in a small town - that's really individual.  There are people who grow up in a big city, but end up living in a small town and enjoy it, and vice versa.

Regarding living expenses, I am almost sure that Colombia would be more expensive.  Their minimum wage is around $300/mo as far as I know - in Ukraine it would be a really really good salary.  Also $500 is not really plenty in Ukraine, although it is a lot more than what most people make.  If you want to have a car, go to restaurants, go out, travel, etc, $500 is not really enough IMO.

Anyway, good luck.

Mike, you are only 36 according to your profile - consider lowering your target age to 21 or 22 as many of the women in the agencies are younger and you would be limiting your selection going 26 and up. Plus, they often grow up faster in SA so a 21 y/o from Colombia may be more mature than an AW. I have used several agencies throughout LA. What cities interest you the most??
