I have noticed that Tagalog's and Cebuano's speaking filipinas can't seem to get along. Why is this?  Seem like some Tagalog's think they are better or something. Is this true or am I wrong?  Humabdos

Interesting!

AY naku I don't like arguing but I believe what Tessie
said.  I also believed that some tagalog see there
selves higher than visayan and vice versa.  I mean
higher aka "social".... am I right Tess?  SOme people
who live in Manila or been in MAnila thought they are
more exposed to City life that's why they thought they
are more "social" than to those who are in the
provinces...considering Manila is the Capital.

Hum,  most  ladies ( even gentelmen) who was been
raised and lived in the province feel awkward with
ladies living in the city because they feel that they are
backlog. This is one reason why they don't get along.
Another thing is the lifestyle.

Come to think of it.

Peaches.

Maybe you're talking about Manilena vs ladies in the provinces (not only Cebuanas but also Tagalog ladies from the provinces).

I've been leaving in Manila for 20 years. And i've noticed that ladies in the provinces thinks that Manila girls are smart, sophisticated, knows more, thinks better and has a lot of opportunity compared to them that are in the provinces.

As we all know Manila is where the center of all government & private Business. Location of good and reputable schools...etc.

But this doesn't mean that Manila ladies & those in the provinces can't get along well.  I was born in Butuan City  and went to Manila when I was 17 to continue my studies. What I am now is a provincial lady at heart and a Manilena in mind. An all around type of lady.

my opinion.....

speaking in generalizations is not right.

There is absolutely no truth to Tagalogs not getting along with Cebuanos.  It is probably more on the individuals concerned.  Like what another poster said.....maybe, it could be likened to one of your  "southener"  not getting along with one "northener".

Maybe, they just rub each other the wrong way.

I don't think Tagalog and Cebuano speaking Filipinas can't get along well. I am Cebuana and I have lots of friends who are Tagalogs and we're getting along well. In fact, one of my closest friends in my elementary years and even up to this time is a Tagalog girl(a lady now)from Cavite. She's a very nice person and she'd never shown us that she's better than anyone of us because of the fact that she's Tagalog.

Peace,

Bear's Honey

...That Western people are far superior to Eastern people, regardless of whether they are from the North or from the  South.
I know this as a fact as a Western person "doing my time" in Noo Yawk...
Before moving here, I had taken the beauty of the West for granted, even making fun of the scrub of Nevada, especially when I was a smug Oregonian. Since moving here, I now appreciate the West, and almost worship the desert of Nevada on my annual Western Tour.
I decided that I would rather listen to Chinese Ladies who are still learning to speak English than these horrible Eastern accents which hurt my tender ears terribly...
I expect brutal attack from all with respect to my regional chauvinism, but most would surely agree with me about the accents if you heard the Long Island young lady "tawlk" about getting a cup of "kwawfee". Yes, that's what she said...KWAWFEE!!!!!!!

..this Boston boy doesn't like the way those Noo Yawkers talk either!  When I tell them I want to "pak my caa" they just look at me with a scowl.  I don't even like the way they play baseball.  They can't win without stealing our players; first it's Babe Ruth (and the resulting "Curse of the Bambino") and then it's guys like Roger Clemens.  Come to think of it, the Jets do the same thing Shocked)

I was in Long Island on business a couple years back and the hotel I was staying in had some sort of singles night. I'd stopped in the bar in the evening for a nightcap and a petite, attractive blonde walked up to me, put her hands on her hips and said in a perfect Sylvester Stallone "Rocky" voice, "Hey - Yo - You gonna dance with me OR WHAT!" I figured I better obey since I didn't want the "or what" option. Maybe her right cross was a perfect Rocky copy too. LOL

Hum,

What are you trying to do, start that war up again? ;o)) I have no comment, since I have friends from Manila and the provinces. ;o)) It is very similar to Latin America, with relations among people from the different countries.
