In recent months I have been in contact with a lady in Bucaramanga. Several months ago , I emailed an agency for information. They must have given my email address out. I got email from this young lady. We have had daily contact via email. She seems very nice and we have learned about each other. She seems interested in coming to the United States. I am planning a trip to see her in the future. Any comments or information on Bucaramanga would be helpful. I have never been to Colombia or had a relationship with a Colombian. What should I be aware of or careful of?

I believe Seeker was scheduled to be there recently, and I recall another poster, perhaps Canadian - posted a brief trip report several months back.  Try a search here on the forums.  To be rather blunt, Bucaramanga would probably not be high on a list of top destinations for a 1st time visitor to Colombia - but it's definitely off the gringo trail and IMHO that's a plus.
