Anullment Granted

Hey fellows...  Well I am finally postings as all legal matters are resolved.  On Feb. 12 the Jefferson County Court (Colorado) granted me INVALIDITY OF MARRIAGE based on my "wife" commiting fraud by marrying a US citizen in order to gain entry into the United States.  I 'll post again later explaining the situation.  I'd like feed back.  I want to get honest criticism about maybe  some mistakes I made.

As for pursuing Latin women...Im all over it...(in the sense that I plan on going back and am already writing several Latinas in BArranquilla and Cartagena.)

Ken,
I agree with the posters below about too much speed, and too much trust due to perceived religious similarity, the third factor that apparently impacted this situation was the fact that your "ex" already had family in this country.

I personally think this is a no-no. Until you build that bond of man & wife, the birth family will always have stronger pull.

I am the last person to criticize, but I wonder if you relied too much on the fact that she was a Christian, thinking that her faith would cause her to make the right choice.  My wife is a Catholic and the strength in her faith was a determining factor in asking her to marry me because I know she takes marriage very seriously because of her religious beliefs.  I wonder if because you are serious in your religion you assumed your ex-wife was equally serious and would not enter into a marriage unless she intended to be commited to its success.  If you think there is any validity at all in what I said then I wonder if you should be more skeptical of the other person's faith until they prove to you their actions will back up their words.

not to criticize either, but some of the biggest crooks that i have delt with in  my business were very devouted catholics and christians. they seem to use the religon as an excuse sometimes.so far, the people that i have delt with that seem to be the most honest are from a jewish background. i myself, raised lutttttttthern, DAM!!!!! my keyboard just took a krap!!!!
anyways, im not too religous, but i think it helps when  a girl goes to church with her mother.

good to hear. hopefully this time, you wont get married in her country and you will take some time to get to know her. the K1 visa is still the best way to go for most men.

Ken - sounds like you got out the marriage pretty quickly and without too much legal hassle.

The only criticism I might offer because I recall your situation pretty well, is that you proposed to her pretty quickly.  I recall it was only a few days after meeting her.  I remember you had been writing and calling her exclusively for some time though.  Maybe you felt you knew her well enough to take the plunge?  

Perhaps you could let us know what you felt you did wrong and what you plan to maybe do differently since you are still persuing the latinas of Colombia?  Would the K-1 maybe of been a better way to go?  Where is your wife now, still in Kentucky or Tennessee or wherever it was she ended up with her relatives? I imagine she still has conditional residency even though the marriage was annulled?
