Today is the first anniversary for my wife Maritza and I. It has been a year of learning. Maritza is from Guayaquil, Ecuador. The most difficult thing for her has been to be away from her family, she stays in contact by email and phone. She spent the month of June in Ecuador, and that seemed to help her alot. Our city does not have a large Spanish sector, so she has to work hard to learn good English. Her first job followed in July working in a large retail store has helped much in that she feels that she is now making a contribution to the relationship. For me it has been the best year of my life. Patience is something I never had in the past, but now practice it a lot. I wish everyone the best in their search for the right latina. It is well worth the time, efforts, and cost. Thanks to everyone for their posts and opinions which were a big help to me. Thanks most to Sylvia for her encouragement, I hope she hears me.

Congratulations on a good first year. You are right, patience is a trait a gringo must have when he brings his new esposa home. When the real world daily routine sets in, things are different than in the exciting early stages of the relationship. Being impatient with her will only make whatever adjustment problems she is having that much worse.

My story is similar to yours. I met my wife by placing my own ads and writing. Mine also already had a tourist visa before we met. Interesting that your wife is from Ecuador, Patrick says he got great response from there by women looking to meet a gringo.

Continued good luck!
