Day 6 - The Odyssey Ends

Well, after having time to digest the last few days, I must it was an experience that has changed my life...

I did not match on my first trip but I am in no hurry to rush the process... But I now know what I want and where to find it... I am going to correspond and talk with 4 of the girls I met to see what happens now that they have met me... I am returning to Cali next month for at least one week, maybe two... There are still some girls that I would like to meet but did not have the chance...

Inquired into a tutor today to speed the process of getting myself to conversational Espanola levels... There are Ingles schools all over Cali... Many of the girls I met spoke some Ingles and all were either attending classes or had already done so... This is the single most important factor if you want to succeed... You can't build a relationship if you can't communicate...

Courting Calenas is no different that dating AWs except they are more receptive than their AW conterparts... Every girl I met said the most important things for them was to find someone who will love them, care for them, respect them and be faithful to them... Family life is the most important thing, even for those who are professionals... They don't want Columbian men because they do not want a commitment and only want what they can get from the women...

My new gringo friend at the agency did match... He wound up proposing to his girl after his week in Cali... They are getting married in December... He will travel to Cali two or three times between now and then... It appears to be true love, but it could just be chemistry... Who am I to say... They are very happy together... I hope it lasts as they both seem like wonderful people...

Final analysis, hummm... Too soon to tell... Wonderful experience... Too good to be true... Hopefull... A little less skeptical... Long and involved process... Unlimited rewards... Happiness!!!

Discovery is dangerous, but so is life... A man unwilling to take risks is doomed never to learn, never to grow, never to live...

Wizard,

If you'll allow, I'll combine your trip reports into one file and put it in the trip reports section so it will be more permanent.  The board gets archived and the reports will eventually disappear from the archives when it gets old enough.

Hey Patrick...

If you think it is worthy of going in the permanent archive, sure... I had fun writing the report as it allowed me to document the experience as it was happening...

Hey Wizard sounds like you had a great time on your first trip to Cali.  I will also be in Cali next month either August 8th or 9th depending on my work schedule and staying through the Labor day weekend.  I see from your profile that you are also from Houston.  This will be my forth trip to Cali over the last 18 months or so.  Just can't seem to get enough!!!

I'm going back over the Labor day weekend myself... I haven't booked the flight yet, but plan on staying at least one week, maybe two... Not sure of the dates yet either as I have to juggle my work schedule... Bottom line, I'm there...

That was funny about the girl getting married to the gay guy in your trip report. My novia's best friend is gay and he married his cousin to get his U.S. citizenship. He is a doctor in the U.S. and travels beck and forth to Mexico all the time.

It blew my mind as this girl was very attractive and spoke good English... Can't believe she is going to do that but I guess she got tired of waiting for a relationship to develop with a gringo...

From my limited experience it seems that many of the girls at the agencies have been in the process a long time... I don't know who made the comment that Cali is picked over because it's not true... With Cali having over 2 million people and figure that there are maybe 4000 girls registered with agencies, there are still alot of new girls signing up every day... The folks at latin-internet said they sign up 12 - 15 new girls a week and I believe them... When I was there I witnessed many new girls signing up...

The girl I am most interested in has been in their books for a year and a half!!!
