You are so right about that world thing.  It's what the world's coming to.  God forbid that we would actually have to take responsibility for what we say and thinking and stuff.  That's um, unfair or something.  You know hard and stuff.

I do have to answer some awkward questions about my town.  I was talking to J the other day, and she said,  I saw your city on television. (UH OH!)  There was a man, with a big piece of wood and he mixed many kinds of food on a table then smashed the wood on the table and this disgusting food went out onto the audience.  (I guessed correctly that the was Galliger(sp?) the comedian and his "sledge-o-matic")

... and the moral of the story....  I would not want to have a dress ruined by going to this kind of show.

So, based on my international experience, I would highly recommend that you warn your girl before taking her to see Galliger.

I'm trying to feel deep and lasting shame, but my complete lack of conviction is hindering the process.

I'm sure there will be laws against this one day.

I only thank God this guy did not claim he was Brazilian, then I might feel some shame.  But I suppose as long as they never really say anything about the country or the perspective of someone from the country it would be....  well just like any other foo.
