Someone is posting on the Latin woman list that the agency scene in Cali right now is very bad because nice girls don't join the agencies.
He is saying because one of the ex owners seemed to have branched off into running a call girl operation that nice girls now won't join the agencies and only players and users are left. This seems like a huge exageration to me.
Any comments from recent experience?Did it really change that much?

Pete

... in response to State of Cali Agencies, posted by Pete E on Oct 27, 2001

:
I have been following the LWL and Mr Flecksteins path to "cali agencies are full of whores". This guy is another Hot mail goof. He dosn't say his history or experience. Today he made the comparison between the agencies and prison " crime schools" He is for hanging around universities and malls or going to Barrinquilla agencies. He is constantly insinuating that several agencies are involved in prostitution although he dosn't say which ones.
I think he has been around before under a different handle and may be involved in another agency. He seems to be hinting at the Big Dog tour which never happened. That list is really getting weird. At least here if you lie , you pay for it. There they just believe it. Saint Larry is there with advice 24/7 and it is unbiased of course.
I was there last month and it has not changed, just less men in town. Was there for three weeks and had contact with Norm, Keith and Bobby, Luz Amparo and Adriana Hochberg ( Buds Wife) Business is bad and got worse after the bombing but the women are still there and just a nice as always. My Colombian friends say that business is improving and things are looking better. JIM C

Jim, I'm quite interested to hear what you've got to say about the above-mentioned thread, but why don't you bring up your objections on LWL? Why didn't you weigh in on that discussion? Unless you go by a completely different handle there, the pattern I seem to see is you lurk there, and then come here to potty-mouth LWL and its members.

I post under the same name there as I do here. By the way I am a member of LWL and have posted since December last year
I just feel now there are more anonamouse idiots there and don't usually bother with them. But when I read the trash posts which pop up in my E mail, accusing people I know personally, of being pimps and drug dealers. I don't want to bother with the clowns who, while knowing nothing, say yea thats horrible. Like Carlos the agency owner who says Norm is involved in Prostitution and then Larry G says Carlos is a reputable guy. Meanwhile Carlos lists the web site to his agency and tries to attract customers by saying Hey guys I don't allow hookers like those americans at MS Gringuitos do. DEA finally got them thats why they are going out of business . Its also why most of us don't bother with LWL too much anymore. The people who post there are not really credible any more and I delete most of their posts But thats just my opinion and if you want to spend the time you can copy my posts and put them any where you want. By the way Ferris have you ever been to Colombia or to an agency and do you really live in Spain. Or are you just another figment.

It would be nice of you to share what you know over there, if nothing else for the sake of newbies. I know there has been a lot of trolling there, with Ed Beckwith and Biave among others posting stupid crap under assumed names. I'm not interested in copying and pasting your posts for you, but if you know better about Cali, etc. why not stand up and be heard like you do here. Silence is easily construed as consent or agreement in these forums.

Thanks for the offer ferris. I am too grumpy to waste my time.  I would get too rude in that enviorment. I do not wish to be a crusader leave that to Larry G. I talk on this forum because I enjoy the repartee. By the way, if you live in spain, how do you know so much about the players in five months. JIM C

PS to give you a rude example, Copy and Pasting to LWL was not what I had in mind for you to do.  Oh  just got a post from Felckenstein he is congratulating the mystical Carlos for his honest post about the dirty americans. If you like it there more power to you.

Jim, in your first post above you said:
"That list is really getting weird. At least here if you lie , you pay for it. There they just believe it."

Fleckenstein just posted his stuff again. If you know Cali but don't say anything, you're part of the problem.

Also, what do you mean by "By the way, if you live in spain, how do you know so much about the players in five months."? I' don't understand the 'five months' part.

Ah. Just checked my profile and it was created five months ago, got it. I've been hanging around PL a couple of years maybe, and have been in Spain for over a year. Been to Venezuela and Mexico, been to FSU a few times where I was "played", might go live in Colombia next year.

For shining the light the light on the LWL troll. Gotta give Patrick a "BIG UP" for the way he treats posters who talk trash without backing it up with facts. BTW, are you still going to set up those english classes in Cali?

Peace...Hoda

p.s. Not all hotmail users are GOOFS....LOL!

Hi all,
Do you know that about 12% of the Americans polled believe that Elvis Presley is alive?
What that represents to me is what I call the crazy factor.
As regards any issue 10% of people will be off on the fringe at any given time regarding an given subject.
I have been to Cali twice this year. I dealt with Luz Amparo's Latin Best and had a couple of good long conversations with Robert V. owner of LWC. I like him and his agency. There have also been numerous good reports from Ricardo's and Norm's Mis Gringuitos. Some of the other agencies have had favorable reports as well. Since I would generally discount 10% of all reports as being either exceedingly pro or con, therefore representing the fringe, that leaves 90% of reports somewhere around the truth. If 1/3 to 1/2 of those remaining reports were negative then I would suspect the agency involved. I haven't seen anything like that about any agency. Maybe agencies aren't for you. That's ok as there are other possibilities. And there certainly are horror stories. IMO the root of horror stories is the baggage people bring with them. Whatever your attitude and beliefs you will bring them with you and interject them into any relationship you have with any person. In our society it is very normal to deny our "stuff". It is much easier to blame "that agency" or "those flaky women" than it is to 'fess up to our own stuff and own it.
I believed the "good stuff" I read and took note of the cautions warned about. I took a good and realistic attutude with me to Cali and found not only a great lady to start a relationship with but I also met many other attractive, sincere and decent women.
As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for", just be aware the exchange often isn't in the coin of the realm.

You know, I have seen that time and again here. You get a guy who comes down here and interviews 10 women, goes out on a date or two, and the woman doesn't call him or doesn't want to go out with him again, etc and it's the Agency's fault, or the owner's fault, or the woman's fault. I truly don't understand that. I mean come on, the problem may lie with themselves and not everyone else.
Like the old saying goes,"If it walks like a duck, if it swims like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, it's proabably a duck."

I was thinking about going to Cali soon.  Would you guys recommend any agencies?  Presently, I'm part of Latin American Introductions in Bogota, and with my membership I'm entitled to use the sister company in Cali called Latin Best.  I was also thinking about visiting other agencies as well, or other special places in Cali to meet women that you veterans know about.

If you don't mind, what agencies would you guys recommend?:

Latin Best
Latin Connections
Latin Encounters
Latin Internet
Latin Love
Latin Women Connections
Latin Love Mates
Mis Gringuitos

Thanks,

Just Curious
