Hello:  I thought someone might like to hear about the visa process I am going thru. In my case with my fiancee, I am the one who is applying for residency in Mexico, as for the first eight months, we will live there. My fiancee has a commitment to Administer a small hospital her brother in law owns for a year. Since we are getting married in November, we will live in the small town (two hours from Guadalajara) she is working and living in. It will be a real test of my patience, but as she has three sisters close to our age (I am 41, she 36) in the same town (all married to great guys), I should have a great time. I already have a spot reserved for me on the over 35 Futbol team representing this small town, as I played Soccer in High School and not Football.
An example of how much importance learning English has in Mexico; my fiancees brother in law is taking a year off from his practice as a Doctor and moving to the Napa Valley so his kids can learn English.
Anyway, I get my FM-3 Visa (Residency) tommorrow which will make things so much easier as far as coming and going to Mexico, bringing household goods in, driving a vehicle. My fiancee already has had her papers (Green Card and Visa) for the USA as she used to study in San Francisco , so when we move here next year, it will be simple. I am very excited, and now I have to work on collecting all the documentation that will allow us to get married in Mexico...Just a differant way of doing things...Randy
