Hey Folks....

I just recieved a call from DougY & N..they have her Visa in Hand are back in Cali and heading home soon. He said the Embassy visit was a snap and the Embassy staff was blown away by the detailed preparation of his paperwork package. Making the whole proccess for them a Breeze...LOL...relatively speaking of course.

They had their HoneyMoon in Cartagena and loved seeing the Historical City and surrounding sights.

He tried to post an update from Colombia but ran into registration kinks. So he called me and asked that I post this update so that all his friends would know they're Married and doing GREAT...!!!!

He wanted to Thank Everyone that has Helped Him along the way and to all the well wishers and supporters.  They'll be homein a few days .

My Heartfelt CONGRATS to DougY & N and all the Future Success and Happiness they deserve in life and in LOVE...:-)..!!!

Regards, Houndog

I talked to Doug by 2 days ago.Actually there were 2 weddings,a civil ceremony and then one for the family, church I presume. This allowed them to get the visa started earlier and they have it,they had no problems at all.
Doug is coming back today and Nelcy in 2 or 3 weeks,I guess she needs to take care of some things.

HD,
Doug used Gary Bala to do his paperwork for him.It was all neatly arranged in a binder.I think Gary charges $995,which sounds like alot, but if you make mistakes(as I did)it can cost you more than that, plus time.
I question if she actually has the visa in hand. The rules used to be you could get it at your second interview, which is a minimum of 2 weeks after the first interview.Since they got married on 5/27 and 5/28 was a holiday, the first interview could be no earlier than 5/29 and the second interview no earlier than6/12,next Tuesday.Maybe the rules have changed or Gary was able to help them around this.Maybe the first interview can be before the wedding, but I thought you needed the wedding certificate at the first interview.I would have done that if it is possible,I didn't want the second night of my honeymoon to be in Bogota with my step son along.
We will have a party for Doug and Nelcy when they get back to San Jose and as soon as they are ready.Mail me at peiguren@aol.com if anyone is interested in attending.

Pete,

Doug said they have visa in hand, signed sealed and delivered and they're heading home today or tommorow. They are in Cali saying all their goodbyes.

Atta boy Doug!
My sincere congrats to Doug & Nelcy...yet another Gringo bites the dust...well, now I guess I need to move from the 'on deck circle' to the batter's box, cuz it looks like I'm the next to go...Can't wait til we get together here in the US with the girls, all of whom have become friends during this entire process...

Later,
Mike

Doug and Nelcy:

Congratulations upon your success.  Nelcy, do you really know what you are getting into (just teasing).
Doug, you talk the talk and walk the walk.  I got 25 days and counting....
I leave to marry on June 29th and will marry on July 1st so I hope to "glean" (that is, pester you until submission with endless trivial and foolish questios) information from you.
Hope the trip to Cali  (that is, California goes great!)
