I am very new to this and I was wondering if someone can tell me what documentation my wife must bring to the Embassy on her introduction visit. I have a Columbian attorney that is suppose to be helping but I am not feeling very comfortable now. The only things she has told my wife she needs are passport photos, immunizations, and doctors appointment in Bogota.

We were married in Columbia and she does not have a visa.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dude:

If you got married in ColOmbia....please learn the correct spelln.  You would have known the basics.  First of all, to get married in Colombia, you need a marriage visa.  If you got the marriage visa, you would be somewhat familiar with the additional requirements.
(1) US Immigration paper work
(2) Amount of $ needed
(3) Information for her second interview etc....

Look if you take sometime and read the achives you find everything you need.  Besides what type of atty did you hire?  If he/she was legit, you wouldn't need to ask those types questions!

I am going the K1 Visa route versus DCF so I cannot help with what documents she would need.  You might check on Gary Bala's website if he lists the documents.

Hey bud,
I'm in Dallas also.  No offense, but what the heck did you do? ...went down there and got hitched without doing any homework?

Even if you didn't do your homework, that's OK because you hired an attorney who SHOULD have done his and SHOULD have educated you to some degree, that's their job...Sounds like you need a new attorney.

Good Luck,
Mike

Here are a few things I will add:

1)read the archives, all the info regarding the required documents/procedures are in there, and educate yourself instead of asking a question that one could and has written books on!

2)Hire a new attorney

Later,
Mike

Only if you belong to the "club". If not you will be trashed.

Is it not possible, the guy went south not knowing there were forums such as this? maybe he met a great girl and is now having trouble with INS. If he then searches on the net and found PL, he gets bashed for asking a pretty serious question.

He doesn't look like a "troll" but he didn't do his "homework" and follow the exact steps recommended by the board gestapo;-)

I hope the poor guy doesn't have a hotmail address!

BTW, I'm sure these members don't remember how silly their first questions were.
