Well, My fiancee is in Bogota and had her first visit to the US Embassy today. I think it was a check-in. She paid the Visa fee and got the Medical exam appointment lined up for next Monday. Then she says she returns to the Embassy next Tue., for what I'm guessing and hoping is "The Interview."
This is a very daunting period in the lives of many of these women. I'm delighted at how well she is dealing with this part of "Her Adventure" so far. She told 'me' not to worry everything will be fine.
We are fortunate that she is staying at her Brothers house while in Bogota. I got to talk to all of them for the first time the other night. One of her nephews speaks fluent English and actually lived in the US for a few years. Needless to say they are all very happy for her. All her relatives are helping her in so many ways, including going to the Embassy with her. If it weren't for her family I think this would have been pretty difficult for her alone.
Needless to say I'm just about as excited as an expecting father (I think). Her B-day is tomorrow and she told me this is the best B-day present she has ever had. I doubt if I'll ever be able to top this one, so I'll have quite a challenge every year thinking up something special.
