Met a nice 29 year old, very sweet lady on chat last night,
i know i know chat is not the best way to meet,
but she is very intelligent, easy to talk to , lives in Makati
     I will cross my fingers, take my time, and see how it goes.
I may even get off my butt and actually VISIT the phils...LOL

I have 'met' three pinays on IRC that I have been interested enough in to continue to correspond with, out of approximately 110 ladies that I have chatted with.  It can be a good way to get introduced, although there do seem to be many immature and/or insincere ladies chatting and it seems like that percentage has been increasing lately.

As long as you go into it with open eyes, I do not think it is significantly worse than other ways to get introduced, although I do still prefer the traditional introductions by friends.

One of the ladies that I am corresponding with seems a little questionable, since her claimed age has drifted a bit, but the other two seem to have hearts of gold.

Who knows, if we still seem interested in each other I may be in Cebu in July...

I chatted with several hundred ladies also on mIRC and wrote maybe 10 of those I chatted with.  Several started out looking to be good contacts but then fizzled.  Others didn't look good like good contacts and got a lot better.  But once I met Marissa I stopped chatting with the rest within a few weeks.
One thing I like abt her is when we chatted she only chatted with me and stopped all the others.  I thought that was great to be so devoted to me.

One only chats with me, and is aware that I do chat with others.  She seems to be a very nice lady, and I find that I am chatting less with the others.  Maybe in a few months I will know more.

I think that chat can be useful when you begin the process because it allows you to converse with a large number of filipinas with different ages and backgrounds. You can quickly learn the differences between them.  In your initial post about chat, you said that you wanted a lady who would only have you as a bf.  With chat, you should be aware that these women are chatting with many men and they have more opportunities to meet American men than they would have through the correspondence route.

29 is a good age, my Mahal's 30. I lived in Makati for a month, the city is nice and clean. There are alot of Girlie Bars and Discos in Makati City. greg

Thanks may, i really really appreciate the kind words
from you and others on this post, Some people bashed
me for meeting in chat, but to me its just a way to
connect.

why, becuase i met someone on chat? There are several
married successful couples on the board who met that way.
Its just an introduction, nothing more, and it would have
to be backed up by a successful meeting in person,,,whats
wrong with that?

Your batting average is not good on the "chat-room" method.  At first I thought you were just joking about finding this new lady in the chat room.

Go fishing at another pond (i.e., try a different approach such as pen pals, etc.)
