Btw, I ain't Dear Abby, I just told the man what I might do in such a situation, although, I don't think I would ever be in that situation anyway. His question didn't seem all that serious, and niether was my reply.

Actually, my question was serious - this was the first time I ran into the cell-phone craze in the Philippines and it put a huge shadow on my otherwise wonderful experience. I also doubt that IF you were in my situation, that you seriously would grab your loved ones belongings to throw them into the ocean. On the other hand, I must admit that it was a thought that had occurred to me too while I was there....
