Everybody has some form of prejudice and always will.
I just read on the Latin board a guy living in Costa Rica is ready to leave because the people there are racist against his Colombian wife let alone the Mexicans, Nicaraguans.

Hum just think maybe the reason they are letting all the illegals in is to get a labor force to pay taxes when the baby boomers start to retire. If they don't, the income taxes will be 50% just trying to support SS. I think it is 2035 when there will be only 2 workers for every retired worker. If they don't do something the politicians will lose their cushy jobs if we can't afford to pay their wages.

Hi Ray,

Sorry to interupt your erectus LOL.

I had a question about the DS-230 Part I.   I am not familiar with this form.  Could you enlighten me about it please.  Thanks

Bring a copy of the DS-230 Part I and help her complete it to make sure it’s done correctly. She may need this later for submittal to the embassy.

Bring lots of rubbers if you don’t want children right away. DON’T trust her to take birth control! :-) This was real good advice coz i was going to trust her with birth control.  After your post I re-thought it over and will do as you suggested.   My problem is I may forget what to do on the honeymoon, it has been so long LOL.  Maybe there is a book?  We used the rubbers in Vietnam to carry water back to the camp.  They also kept the socks dry in the rainy season.  They were good for covering skin burns too.

Peter,

Depending on which visa the wife interviews for in Manila, she will need to complete either the DS-230 and/or DS-156. The DS-230 requires more detailed biographic information and can be a little difficult to complete properly, so it would be a good idea to do a rough draft while you are there and then each of you can keep a copy for reference. You can download here:

http://travel.state.gov/visaforms.html

On the birth control thing: if she does get pills, make sure she takes them regularly :-)

Peter, if you can’t remember how to do it, then yes there are books or porno movies that you could use for training purposes for your honeymoon. However, I strongly recommend that you bring along a personal trainer to supervise all lovemaking sessions to make absolutely sure that things get done properly. You can probably find an experienced trainer who will do it for travel expenses alone. I recommend Dave H for the job. If he’s not available for that time slot, then give me a call and maybe I can fit it into my schedule :-)

Ray I am going for the spousal visa after I am married.  When do these forms
the DS-230 and/or DS-156 come into play?  Which one will she be using if it is a spousal visa interview?
I did download the The DS-230 using your provided web site.
Do you have a system on how to keep track of the  birth control pills so I know that she takes them regularly ?  I know this culture is not know for being very organized.   Meeting at special times is also a problem, going to the mall there is never a set goal of what to do or where to go.   So I am afraid the birth control pills will go the same way.
Porno movies would probably scare her right now, best to ease into it one step at a time.

Thanks for strongly recommending a personal trainer but I was thinking of a female trainer.   But since guys don’t like to ask for directions [now I know why lol] I will have to rough it and do the best I can with her by trial and error.

Peter,

There are two spousal visas, the IR-1 and the K-3.

The DS-230 is for the IR-1 and the DS-156 is used with the K-3. The forms are submitted to the embassy at the time of the visa interview.

Forget about the birth control pills, I think it would be too confusing for you. Just use rubbers, it’s easier to keep track of :-)

You won’t need a personal trainer if she reads those Filipino “pocketbooks”. She will already know more than you do (LOL).

Take plenty of pictures of the wedding and especially of the honeymoon, so we can grade your performance after you return :-)

Well, Humbaddy's always had a thing or two for Mexico... lol, just check the archives.

But just like any other political party or religion, there are those that have their extreme (single issue) sides to them. I disagree with deport deport deport, [cause they keep the price of veggies and other stuff cheap when nobody else will do the work for less than 15 bucks an hour] but agree with guns and roses, ahem, fences,  landmines and snipers.

The topic sure liven's up the board though!  Just please don't start up with abortion and stem cells and I think we'll all be ok!

I don't think so. A lot of tax payers are fed up with these no good wetbacks and are tired of supporting their rat like breeding habits. DEPORT  DEPORT!
