Hi All,
My Filipina friend that likes to visit me to watch TV and nap has found herself a new job.  She has finally heard enough stories about how other Filipinas (and gays), are making a lot of money on the internet, and she has decided to start working the internet herself.
Her gay friend showed her everything she needs to know, and taught her all the right things to say.  She is really cute, so the webcam works to her advantage.
This is really depressing for me. I spent all afternoon trying to explain to her why this just isn't right, but her family is so desperately poor, she is determined to do and say whatever it takes to get the money to start rolling in.
And yes, she will marry just for the money and opportunity.  I went as far as to be blunt enough as to tell her she is basically prostituting herself.  I spent hours trying to explain that she could be setting herself up to possibly meet some really bad people, but she just won't listen.
I had always thought she was better than this, but for the past week she has been spending eight hours a day at her "new job".
I see this kind of thing happening here all the time, I just did not expect someone I like so much to start doing this.....I feel so very sad right now.

To find out so early the type of person you are dealing with.  Now you know what to expect in the future.  Have some fun and move on.

Cheers

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend.  If only she could get away from the bad influences in her life and hope she soon realizes that money isn't everything.
Just be a friend to her, she needs you more now.
