As someone who is traveling to the Philippines for the second time in as many months to meet a Filipina I was very interested in this expose . I was given the link by a Filipina in CB chat . As far as I know , this guy is still there fighting his legal battles . It's an interesting read for anyone considering going over . Of course it goes without saying that the guy shouldn't have been doing what he was doing and that he was very unlucky to boot . This is not typical of Filipina behavior however we all need to remain aware when out of the country .

I hope that many read this . It's 13 pages but not at all boring...Tom

...that Patrick doesn't have his cuss-o-meter set up for Tagalog! :-)

Unfortunately, there are a lot of guys going to the Phils (and other countries), who will fall in "love" with the first bar girl who sits on his lap and sticks her tonge in his ear. It happens every day...

No names now, but a good friend of mine has been married to a Filipina B-girl (that he met just like you described, while she was "working", even, if you know what I mean) for 25 years or so, they've got 3 kids and now a grandchild. When people ask how they met, he always says "I met her while I was in the Marines while I was stationed overseas" and leaves out the details.

Some of my best friends here in the States are ex-bargirls. I must say that it's hard to find truer friends or better citizens.

I'm not recommending that anyone go over and marry a bargirl, but I don't think they should be treated like some kind of lepers either. When you get right down to it, they are just people like the rest of us. Some are wonderful human beings and some are shiit-heads. They just come from a tougher background than some others.

Just my $.02

O.K. guys, flame away! :-)

Ray,

I know that can and does happen, but I would hardly advise it because you are really bucking the odds...you can get the girl out of the bar, but you might not be able to get the bar out of the girl.

Hi Nathan,

Sometimes it works out, but why gamble needlessly. My best friend has been dating American, Latin, and Russian strippers since 1975, when he turned 18. He is now 46 and still lives with (off) his mother. He is not married, hardly ever got layed, almost been killed, and broke. On the bright side, he has contributed to the fine arts by supporting many girls "Dancing Careers" over the years. LOL

... well we should start a list like his. I'll contribute #1 and let others add to the list:

She might be a scammer if...

1) She calls you on a cell phone you paid for, while her boyfriend is in the middle screwing her.

Anybody else have any ideas?

....she just might be a scammer.  Hey, this happened to me for real!  LOL  She said she was in the Jaycee's and they were having a drawing.

A hundred bucks for a raffle ticket? ROFLMAOPIMMFPA!

At least you have to give her credit for originality. The stolen cell phone story gets old after a while... :-)
