Very interesting!!! Not surprisingly, the Philippines are number 1! What surprised me, is that Colombia didn't even make the list. Based on agencies, I'd thought that Colombia would rank high! More Americans married Cuban or Iranian (!!! - see our recent discussion) women than Colombians!

Do you think that the Iranian marriages were arranged, as opposed to penpal relationships? I must say that I was very surprised. The Cuban statistics seem reasonable. The Cuban community still has very close ties with family and friends in Cuba. Many loved ones were left behind when they escaped the island.

I would guess that Cubans rank high because of the large number of them already here and that most of these are Cuban-Cuban marriages.  Don't know about the Iranians but I would think that India's numbers are high due to arranged marriages to Indians already in the US.
