real estate has gone up a lot in the FSU. I remember reading in the old days, divorced couples would spend years living together in the same apartment for lack of other option.

Supposedly, real estate in the Crimean peninsula is appreciating by the double (and sometimes triple) digits each year now.  A lot of speculators are moving in, hoping to make a profit.  It's only going to get uglier too...
