Guys,
"David" is foolin' some of you and "pulling the wool over your eyes." Jack, BarryM and others called it correctly long ago. Oscar, myself and a few others have recently made the same observation. Re-read "David's" posts, take a step back and think! "David," despite what other credible posters may think/suggest, is having a good time with all this!
I just wonder........ if a few of you guys are falling "hook,
line and sinker" for "David's" story, are those same guys gonna be "cannon fodder" for the female scam artists of the FSU?Huh? Guys, it's a jungle out there ...... think and be careful! "David" is pulling your chain and enjoying every minute of it!

Perhaps David is pulling everyone's chain, but I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt since at least one respected poster here has met him personally.  Everyone who's been around here a while knows that we've been fooled before, and we'll be fooled again no doubt, but why not give people the benefit of the doubt in some cases?  What do we lose?  I few pages filled with crap on an internet message board is not so important in the grand scheme of things.  If someone needs help and some of the guys here can help him, than it's worth risking a few ruffled feathers and possible embarrassment.  I think anyone searching for a foreign bride has to be willing to subject himself to potential embarrassment anyway with the way most of our society views these marriages.

Guys are writing pages of "advice" to this guy and I think he is really enjoying the attention he is getting.. As if ANY guy who has half a brain needs to ask advice on what to do with the type of woman he describes..  People are being played like fiddles here, it's amazing..

is that DSD can get all the sincere advice he needs from KenC privately, who seems to be an apologist for the racist maniac. I waiting for the concluding "ha ha - I fooled you stupid asses"  post that is forthcoming.

Barry,
I never once defended David's previous actions.  All I did was try to keep the group focused on the problem at hand.  Not only was that helpful to David, but hopefully an eye opener for the rest of the group.  For example, Ryan should read the posts many many times to prevent walking down the same path.  David has made many mistakes in the past, not the least of which was posting some very stupid things on this board.  I thought that maybe just for once, that we could possibly forgive and forget and help someone in need.

It's very simple. DavidSD doesn't care about "advice". With a "186 IQ" he should have figured it out already. You already gave him advice. Do you think he's going to listen? He doesn't give a crap about the opinions of anyone on this board. He just wants to play around and cause a fuss. To me, this is clear. He holds everyone here in contempt and has said so in numerous ways.

As for forgiveness, there is an issue of repentance and trust. I don't see any reason to trust DavidSD because I haven't seen anything from him that is sincere. All I see from him is deception. It's ok to have pity on him and forgive him for being a degenerate, but it is also proper to shun him because he is not going to reform his ways.

There are other boards that he can receive advice that he hasn't been banished from where the people don't know his past. RWG has bigots. He can go there and get all the advice he wants from those clowns and feel right at home.

Don't you think his persistant pattern of behavior on PL warrants him being shunned?

I do. I think it's justified to tell him to get lost for good.

.. some people feel so violated when it turns out that some poster turns out to be writing fiction. For every person who posts on a board like this, there are dozens and dozens who just lurk. Either your advice is sound for the situation - and decent fiction writers make up believable situations ... at first, anyway, or it's not. What difference does it make if it was posted to a fictional situation or not? For instance I posted this in response to one of David SDs posts: http://www.planet-love.com/wwwboard/russian/messages/80861.html  and I stand behind that post for any foreign bride seeker, whether real or fantisized. I certainly wouldn't feel somehow ripped off if it turns out the original poster was creating fiction. Probably I only would if Patrick flushed the whole thread and it never ended up in the archives. The only reason trolls even start is because they realize they'll eventually really piss off the regulars. I could care less and, in fact, kind of miss some of the more creative ones, like MCK on the Latin Board. If you give sound advice, it shouldn't matter  whether it was originally intended for a fiction writer - because many dozens of real foreign bride seekers in real situations that they're uncertain about, will read it as well. Just my way of looking at the situation.

I don't think that KenC is acting the apologist - so much as David is trading on the goodwill that KenC has built on the board.

KenC, LP, Charles (and others) genuinely want to help David - and there is nothing wrong with that.

Fundamentally, the problem is there is absolutely no support to be provided David, with his problems, from a public BBS.

FWIW

But this bloke does have a flair for dramatic fiction, sad to see such talent wasted, he really should get himself of to Hollywood asap for that sequel.
