Months after my marriage ended years ago, I found a ph# in an old book of a Polish girl I dated when I was 19. So, 20 years later, I called and she answered. She had never married, and still lived at home. We dated a half dozen times. She was beautiful, but dumb, and I realized why I had stopped dating her 20 years before.
One night she, with a forlorn look on her face, looking upward, said,
"When will I be happy?" I guess that was my que to say, "Oh, Barbara
I will make you happy when I marry you." Instead, I said, "Well, I guess you'll be happy when you decide to make yourself happy, in whatever way you choose." She was pissed. No action for me that night.
Moral of the story....You can never make someone else happy, nor can they make you happy. You can, and she can, however, add to the happiness that you already possess. End of Lesson!
