Hi,

I have 2 questions concerning my upcoming trip to Ukraine:

1) I am planing on using the VIP service at Boripol (Kiev). Could someone tell me about it? Is it worth the service at Kiev?

2) I want to send a package to Ukraine. What is the best service to use. It seems that regular mail gets lost a lot. I want to send a medium size package (some cards, photos and perhaps a couple articles of clothing as gifts).

Thanks for your help!

John

I used it going in. It does speed up the process, and you get to wait in a lounge. You never even go to the airport when you use the VIP service.

They even retrieved my luggage for me!

Was it worth it? I'm not sure, because I've ony gone once, and so I don't know how long it takes when you don't use VIP service.

In my case, I had a lady waiting for me, so I wanted to get there as fast as I could.

I will say this, going out, it took me maybe 15 minutes to get through customs and passport control. It took me about the same coming in when I went through VIP service. The only difference was going out, I stood in line. Coming in, I waited in a lounge.

Worth it? I don't know...

As for packages, you didn't tell us what city. is it Kiev? Or elsewhere?

When I mail something to Kherson, it took almost three weeks to get there. Victoria tells me that is because I sent it during a holiday. When she mails me something, it is here in a week. Go figure.

Guys on here swear by DHL. For me it is too expensive to send something via DHL. I was going to send a small present to Stas, and it would have cost $125 to send it via DHL...

So, I just used regular mail.
