Just about the time we expected to get the interview date, we got a letter from INS requesting Evidence.

I have 12 weeks to submit the following...

- Current letter of employment (the one I provided, current at that time, must not have been good enough)

- Evidedence of shared life together  ( I need to send any docs with our names together i.e. car titles, phone bills, etc.. and photos are welcome)

- Supplemental form I-693, Proof of Immunization for the beneficiary ( The form is a medical exam for alien seeking AOS with one of the blocks for immunization)

Is this S.O.P. or irregular?  Anyone get the same letter?  We submitted AOS Nov 2001.

Thanks in advance.

All is well in our life.  She got her drivers license (first try), a job, and we are expecting a baby in Nov.  We put her mother and brother in the Diversity Visa Lottery, but haven't heard anything yet.

I'm not sure about immunization records and proof of your current employment but evidence of shared life together is standard and anybody who's going to have interview has to have as much evidence to present as possible (according my lawyer). As well as tax return for 3 years. The fact your wife is pregnant makes it easier to prove that your marriage is for real and not fake.

Flyboy,
Are you sure that isn't the stuff you are required to bring to the interview?  I have never heard of them asking for this kind of stuff before the interview.

Yes, The letter states:

"You must mail a copy of this letter and the requested information to the address above, DO NOT drop-off in person. Please do not inquire about the status of your case, you should receive some notification from the Service approximately 3 months after mailing the information requested.  Inquiries delay processing times."

Note:  The address I need to send it to is in my city.

My guess is that they are trying to pre-screen before the interview to streamline the process so they can accomplish thier work more efficiently.  OOohhh pinch me, I'm think I'm dreaming!

The letter also stated:

"Your failure to comply with this request will result in the denial of your application.  Partial compliance is a request for a decision on the record."

"request for a decision on the record"Huh What is that suppose to mean I wonder?

This all sounds very strange to me but I know that each office can and does do things differently. Did they send you a NOA after you submitted your application for an AOS giving you an appointment date or did you get this letter instead. We got an official NOA about two weeks after filing our application listing what to bring and when our interview was.

Very strange indeed! Our interview is in six weeks. I'll post if something happens before then. Good luck...
