Just to let you know about my experience in meeting my finacee at the Central Train Station in Warsaw. She rode train from Odessa, Ukraine to Warsaw and I was suprised at just how big the Warsaw station was. First, I suggest you make sure when your fiancee gets train ticket that she tells you exactly what train she will be arriving on. After that I went to the Mariott Hotel and a nice gentleman at the information desk actually walked over to the train station (across the street...or under in the tunnel) and showed me exactly which platform (Person) that train would come in on. It was great piece of mind. Also, on the third floor at the train station you can watch a huge board that updates maybe every 10 or 20 minutes about trains arriving. My fiancee told me the train number and carriage number but all I saw on the sides of the trains were numbers 1,2,or 3....maybe it was in small print somewhere and I missed it.
Be careful because trains sometimes are early...but mainly late. I also avoided the ripoff taxi drivers that hang around the front of the train station waiting for easy money from Americans. Get a person from the Mariott and have them coordinate a taxi driver for you who will charge you a "reasonable rate". I paid about $10 to get from the train station to our hotel. I paid about $15 or $20 get get from airport to Grand Hotel. The Grand Hotel is equivalent to a motel 6 here...but they have a good breakfast that comes with the room. It was clean and met our needs.
Hope this helps...Rick
