Tootsie:

Though not all, but most RW in America are young; my wife is 28. (Actually we have debated on this Board, how much younger can we go), but I would venture to guess that most of them are in their twenties. They have their whole life ahead of us. It is important for them to keep busy and learn English; of course she progresses with time and experience.
Housework in America is mostly shared by couples. (Actually I cook and my wife likes my cooking). In our household, we both do about the same amount of housework; in American homes that is quite common if not the norm.
I would say it again that it is the biggest mistake an AM can do to isolate a young girl, with nothing for her to do.

Of course the situation changes if she has children; or if she enjoys housework, but not many do; AW or RW.

Tootsie --  In your recent posts you mentioned traveling to the US in the past (not on fiance visa, I presume), and you say you now have a "multiple visa" for another trip here. My question is how do you get these visas to the states, apparently with little difficulty, while all information I've read is that it is almost impossible for single RW to get a tourist visa to the US.  What's the trick, if you don't mind sharing?  I'm new to this, and maybe I've missed something.

In order to get a US visa one has to proove that he will not stay there. That means that he has to have:
-   so called “travel history” – more countries he travelled to (especially countries like England, Germany, Italy etc.) better odds to get the visa
-   hi-paid job with at least $700 month salary.

Other things like assets, a car, relatives, account in the bank increase the odds of getting the visa.

As for my case I worked for American company and my first trip to the US was a business one. It was the company I worked for who applied for my visa and I never had any interview.

Also, you may know (I mentioned this earlier) that this summer I went to the US with my female friend, a 32 y.o. girl, never married with no children. We applied much efforts to get her the visa but it was a success.

And sometimes a little help from an American Corporation doesn't hurt?

Once you have been issued a visa it is easier for the next...  I have previously arranged for a travel viss to the US for a friend of mine from Ukraine stopping off in the USa on their way through no problems...  I think the process has changed somewhat in recent times.  I recall a post on the US embassy site or an article in the paper indicating that non-imigrant visia's to the USA from Russia/Ukraine had changed not that long ago...  maybe some men should explore this option as a way of getting to know their dates better...  before proposal of marriage.

The only changes are due to the government pledging tighter scrutiny of visas of all types.

There was a NEW visa type created - but it hardly applies to your suggestion that men find a way to get to know their dates better.

Keep trying MAxie. Maybe somebody, somewhere thinks your posts are worth something - other than for a laugh, that is.

... in response to And Once Again - You would Be *In*Correc..., posted by Dan on Nov 26, 2001

Dan...

I am sorry but I read somewhere  I think it was the US embassy web site that the process for a non-imigration (Tourist) visa had changed where a person who previously held a visa to visit the US was no longer required to attend an interview unless requested.  This was in the form of a media release or something similar.  This is the truth...

I had made enquiries with the US embassy as I was thinking of arranging a RTW ticket for my friened to visit me whilst I was in Australia with a stop over in the USA and Canada.  (It is cheaper to buy RTW tickets then a straight return).

Now I would be the first to admit it if I am wrong...  but I am sure I read this...  It seams to me that in those circumsatnces where a Tourist Visa can be obtained many here would benefit by being able to spend a little more time getting to know their "girl" on home soil before committing to a marriage...

In discussing this with the Embassy staff in Ukraine I was told that a visa could be arranged depending on the circumstance and assurance that the visa requirements would be met and they would leave the US within the alotted time.

I was upfront and honest and they expressed no concern about a visa not being issued subject to the standard identity checks...  Now this was verbally so I will now write and seek a reply oin writing if you liek I would be happy to post the reply...  If I am wrong then I will also inform you of the outcome...
