Meeting your RW in Paris....

Just an FYI for those that were/are interested in meeting their rw's in a different country for possible holiday. I had heard that the chances of an RW getting a Shengen Visa (required to visit most european countries) could be a difficult venture and not guaranteed.
I had wanted to meet my RW to Paris but became hesitant from some of the heresay re: shengen visa. Well, to make a long story short, she had checked with a russian tourist agency and they have assured her she will be able to obtain a visa w/o too much problem under the following, she will purchase a tourist package deal from the agency (which is part of a group tour, but she is not required to stay with the group). The group package includes hotel, transportation to and from the airport, round-trip tickets and her visa (all for $450), which seems one helluva buy (from Moscow to Paris). An additional $200 for me if I am to regsiter with her at the hotel, which would be $650. RT flights from U.S. to Paris are running around $450, so for approx $1100 (and expense money) you can stay in Paris for a week. The cost is quite a bit cheaper then my trip in September to Moscow and as she has never been out of the country, she is looking forward to this, it will be a great experience for her and for me to see how she handles herself in a different country. I have been told that easy countries for Russian women to travel to are Crete and Turkey.  They say the beaches in Turkey are nice.  Several girls I have talked to have traveled to Europe, so I don't think it's that hard for them to make arrangements.  My friend knows a guy that met his Russian wife in Paris.

Great plan!  I was going to do the same thing a few years back, but we decided to for go Paris and proceed directly to a US visa.  At that time, my air fare to Paris was under $300.  February must be a bad time for Paris because that is when some airlines push a Paris special.  Best of luck to you.

chuck,  please e-mail me,  would like some information,  'cause I was almost had, just last week and Jack got me
out of it.    Are you, 100% sure they guarantee the Shengen Visa for Paris.  Thanks.
