Ralph,

I haven't seen any news posted for a few days now, not since I called the embassy myself.

However, David Egolf is leaving for Moscow tomorrow. His fiancee's interview is on October 30th. Unless someone else I don't know of has an interview earlier, we probably won't have any news until then.

Thanks, John. I'll keep checking.
Interestingly, I did receive a 'direct' line phone number from somebody to a woman in the consular section of the embassy. This man said he called her and she helped reschedule their interview sooner than the December reschedule date they originally received. Theirs is now only two weeks after the original date. I did speak with her last night and she was very understanding- but said there was nothing anyone could do now. There are simply no dates open between now and my fiancée's December 18th appointment. She did say, however, that I should call her back in mid-November to see if she can help out. I'll certainly do that, but I doubt anything will develop. It seems the whole situation over there is pretty messed up and, indeed, strange. Not sure what to think anymore. It's so frustrating after coming SO close on October 18th...
