I think you may be one of the last of a dying breed. Last year my municipality switched us over to the new automated garbage trucks, with the 96 gal bins for each household. Now, instead of two men on a truck, there’s one little woman driving the new rig. Just another example of a decaying society?

An interesting note: Where my wife lives in the Phils (Surigao City), they have garbage pickups 6 days a week. I’ve seen as many as 5 or 6 guys on each truck, but they are very fast and efficient. Instead of garbage cans, they just pile it up in front of the house, and the garbage crews scoop it up by hand and throw it in the truck.

I work where most G-men (many others too) would die for, the San Juan Islands, lots of summer tourists, paying big $$$ to spend a weekend here.... My commuting is done by ferry ie., Orcas, eagles, sea lions, incredible scenery and sun rises.
   I can do a route on one of the islands and never see another car...Usually done by 2pm. Soon, my mahal will be here, in paradise, and she'll be on the routes riding with me. She'll  make a good "swamper" (guy on the back of truck) :-0....just kidding!!! But with all the connections I have, she has many, many job offers, no kidding. Folks out here don't take anything for granted, especialy the G-man. Doubt we here will ever be modernized, but OSHA is bored and working on new standards, which won't mean much to me, but will probably raise your rates
  Of course I noticed the system of my Cebuano peers...er, no thanks. FL "if it's tourist season, can I shoot one?"

Thanks! I always wanted to be a detective. What shall I call myself? Hmmmm...I always liked Magnum P.I. and I drive a red car. Unfortunately it is a Chevy and not a Ferrari. I liked the show Cannon too. I look a lot more like Frank Cannon than I do Thomas Magnum.
