-Money
-Job
-Family
-Character
-Faithfulnes
-Honesty
-Tendernes

Again, I would like to compare to my fiancée

Appearance:  Clean cut, "J Crew" type.  Pierced left ear ok, but not too many holes.  No Goths.  Must be in good shape.

Money:  Must be with "in range", meaning in more or less the same category as myself.

Job:    Professional job-- doctor, lawyer, business person....

Family:  A good family.  Overwhelmingly prefer a guy who isn't the first to go to university, and who's parents are also professionals

Character:  Cannot be stupid.  I'd like a funny guy who can make me laugh :-)

Faithfullness:  What?  YOu expect me to eventually marry  a guy who KNOWLINGLY cheats?

Honesty:  That sums it all, doesn't it?  He has to tell me everything, just as I tell him everything.

Tenderness:  Sums it up.  Must be sweet :-)

Westerngrrl,

I've got bad news for you.  Nowadays, "professional" isn't used only on "elite" high-paying jobs.  It's also used on the lowerpaying jobs such as journalism (God knows they don't make 6-digit starting salaries), librarians (the job I'm aspiring to Smiley, teachers, etc.  Hey, being a junior in college, I'm interested in this stuff myself. As in sitting in a desk in an office making at least five figures.  I'm not expecting him to make high fives should he not have an MBA, but he has to make enough and have a respectable enough job where my parents won't freak out and disown me.

You don't really need a degree to make low fives.....Should I have kept the job I had this summer as a receptionist, I'd make along the lines of $25,000 CDN per annum

Your parents would disown you if your husband wasn't making enough money???

And by the way, what do you consider the bringer of happiness in this world?

My parents would disown me if the man I marry doesn't fit their "approval" list.  Their list is actually quite liberal compared to some Chinese Canadian families

Interesting.  My parents have no such list that I'm aware of.  Of course they would like her to be a nice girl, etc., but I don't think they're nearly so stringent.

I made $32,000 usd the last two years. I make drywall, I'm just a blue collar schmuck. I think defining professional by salary or wages is a mistake.

If I were defining "professional" by salary, trust me, I wouldn't have put journalism and teaching in there.  I'm not really sure how they decide definition;  I'm getting this stuff from the Occupational Outlook Handbook and other "college" resources.

I believe I once heard that there were 5 original traditional professional professions.

1. Doctor -- Medical
2. Lawer
3. Veterinarian
4. Accountant CPA
5. Architect - what I would become if I were not a Pastry dude.

Why these 5 --- I am not sure  additional study, or accountability for your actions?

that ladies of the evening are now called "professionals." Shocked))

Nowhere is the term "professional" more evident than in the Health care field. The salary of a health care "professional" may range from 4-digits to well into the 6-figures. Everyone is a "technician", an "engineer" or a "specialist" of some kind. Big titles, low pay.

Banks and many companies often use the title "Vice-President. "Wear a suit and tie, look important, have an impressive title, and shuffle papers." I know several "Sanitation Engineers" that are making double the salary of many bank "Vice Presidents." There's gold in them cans. Keep the cash, I'll take the gold. Shocked))

Your looking for the perfect Guy. Western girl what are you going to do once your Hubby lose all those things that attracted you to him? Divorce him right?? That's the normal thing for AWs. There's no guarantees in life, the Lord can give and take away. Whatever we have is a blessing from God. That's the problem with AWs, they marry because of.. because he got good looks, $$$$$$$$, etc and etc. Most AWs don't marry for Love and Happiness nowdays, AWs want to be the head of the Home, they want to be in control of everything, they work a man to death then go on to the next man. I say no thanks to AWs; Western girl do whatever you want with your life, if these Canadian, American Guys here want to put up with You and all those other selfish AWs that's their tough luck. Ask for myself, I'm going to do the wise thing and get my Love and Happiness from abroad. Don't be mistaken, I have no problem getting an AW if I so Chose, same with the other Guys on this board. We simply do not want an AW. Anyway, I enjoy having you on Planet-Love. :-) greg

What?  I'd never marry a man twice my age, for one, and secondly, I can train him into eating a healthy foods.  Besides, why would a nice girl like me date a Goth or a biker?
