There was a resort with 9 rooms and a pool 8’ deep for scuba training for sale for about $55 thousand US. I remember looking at some new houses in Mactan Island in Cebu they were 2.5 and 3 million peso almost as much as this resort so I thought that was a bargain if someone wanted to live there. The owner an older woman wanted to sell. Apparently her property was leased to some Japanese who used it for a base for dive spots around the island. But the he died and business with him, now the place was neglected.
But the story goes that after 9-11 things went down hill and tourists stopped coming. If I didn’t live in Daytona Beach and came from some cold State with lots of taxes I would be tempted to live there it was so safe and paradise like.
Anyway we were there 3 days and the next day we were off doing that ferry motorcycle thing again. I would have to see Bohol on my next trip. The ferry left at 7.30, we got up at 10min to 6 in the morning, we overslept. We got dressed and hurried to town to make it on time. On the way a dog sleeping on the road got up and started running in the same direction as the bike in front of us. That didn’t work out to well coz I was going pretty fast. He finally decided to go to the right and I almost clipped him. We made it and talked about that resort and the nice beaches and got into Cebu by noon. The wind was with us the whole way and the ferry got their ahead of time and the ship had to wait for room at the dock. After the fun getting the bike back we went into our Belavista hotel and made appointments to get the motorcycle’s lights fixed and oil changed. Next day we went to the Palace of Justice Capital to pick up the marriage certificate. Yup, you guessed it no certified copies. “But you promised and said don’t worry Mr. Lee”. I was upset, it showed in my face. Then they lied and told me they said no such thing. Well I got visibly upset and ask what we can do about it. I was told that this office was not prepared for making certified copies and I must go to the Dept. of Health and they can do it. I steamed out of there as I was told by someone else that if I get zerox copies of the original they can make one certified, then changed their mind.
