I checked in to the Belavista Hotel or the cheaper half known as Hotel Cesario 63 32 340 0211 on Mactan Island it has a pool and cable TV and air.  The hotel has an excellent restaurant and the 809 peso per day includes a buffet breakfast and your personal vault for your valuables.  [The price included a 5% discount if you stay over 5 days]  Numerous foreigners frequent the hotel to meet with their sweethearts and wives.  I noticed the clerk had the flue and the second day I got it and stayed in my room for 12 days sick with the flue.  My weakened condition reintroduced my previous bladder infection spread to the kidney had a fever but I brought along my own antibiotics and it cleared up.   I was sick so long I was tired of being sick, I couldn’t use the pool or go out of the hotel room.  My then gf Maricel stayed with me in the hotel and nursed me, she never left my side.  I wasn’t the only one so sick at the time numerous guests had a bad flue only mine was aggravated by the kidney infection and fever it caused.
Sick as a dog I finally got out of the hotel and with the bad hip I looked to buy a motorcycle and finally decided to buy a new Kymco 110cc for 41000 peso it included insurance and two helmets.  [That’s about $750 US].  I was in Miami yesterday and checked some prices and a 125cc was $1900 no insurance or anything. I tried to justify the cost of buying that motorcycle by figuring the jeepney, buses and taxies each day for 50 days it adds up.  In my case I was doing a lot of traveling each day by taxi.  So average 200 to 300 peso a day for 50 days and deduct it from the price of the bike and when your finished with it give it to your wife or gf or sell it for at least half what you bought it for it could be justified.  But what I really wanted was the freedom it gives you to stop any time and drink some coconut milk or stop for anything for that matter.
