The Miami Herald notes that the US will temporarily suspend transiting US airports without a visa when connecting to another international flight. It makes news here because 70% of all transits without visa occur in Miami.
The reason I am posting about this is that we get an occasional question about the logistics of taking an RW/UW to Latin America. Both American and Iberia (spanish airline) base their latin american operations in Miami. I've also read that Air France has a large Latin American operation, but don't know where they base the operation out of.
