My fiance (from Russia) had been in the U.S. on a J-1 visa.  Her visa expired in July, and she returned to Russia to begin fulfilling the 2 year residency requirement of the J-1.  My question.....if she can get a K-1 visa, would she be allowed to stay in the U.S. after we get married provided she has filed for a waiver to the 2 year requirement and filed for AOS?  From what I can tell, so long as she legally comes to the U.S. on a K-1, we marry, and she has a waiver application and AOS application pending, she should be able to stay in the U.S. as long as the waiver and AOS applications are in process.

I'd just like to get some confirmation on my thought process.  Anyone have any experience with a circumstance like this.  Can anyone suggest a better or quicker way to get her over here?

Thanks,
Don
