... in response to Let's avoid critisizing others please, posted by Patrick on Sep 11, 2002Patrick;
Yesterday I asked for clarification on why my post in this
area was deleted. It was removed within hours of
submission. A day and a half has now passed and no
response. I know you have more important things to do
today (and probably everyday), still you action causes
my question and again I (probably like you) would
prefer to handle this through email. I ask because I did
not criticize or put anyone down and these are the
reasons cited for your action; as I also did not offer a
link to any other board. My question was, is this the
same story referred to by a frequent poster here. It
should be obvious from the (unmentioned) persons'
response below he is not alone in his opinion. What is
important (very), is that he informed on an RW to the
INS without personal knowledge of the situation. He
made this admission unsolicited in a thread on another
board. He suffered serious abuse from members of
the other board for his action (from what I know, rightly
so). He has not been so impolitic as to make the same
admission here. I wonder if others of his opinion here
would also choose to inform the authorities, as he did.
I am not judging or condemning, although if anyone
asks my opinion, it should be obvious (yes there is an
agenda here). The reason for my warning is simple, if
one of YOUR posters comes here with a problem
looking for advice and options (before acting), he could
easily be betrayed to the authorities by this person
before having option of pursing his own solution in his
own way. We can not know more of the situation
referred to or how their plan to rectify the situation was
being dealt with. Other possible solutions were
preempted by the betrayal of their situation by the
frequent poster here. If I appear to be obtuse to any
other members here it is because I am trying to not
offend Patricks' interpretation of his own rules; as is his
right. Patrick, I act because I have personal experience
of this persons uninformed actions before in a case
where he was grossly mistaken. Gentleman, life is not
black or white (always). Today there are two other
women facing deportation (under strict interpretation of
the law) in New York city. They each have children born
here and are being good citizens and want to stay.
Unfortunately, they have violated there status as
dependents on their spouses work visas. Their
husbands died on 9-11-01 at the WTC. And is it fair
and right to throw them out also as they are now in
violation of their visa terms? Acorrding to several
among us.....yes. I would suggest the successful
pursuit of RW may require more understanding and
flexibility than is always shown here.
